Chapter 62: A Problem In The Underworld

Ember's POV

Razer had stopped by for a short visit.

"It's nice to see you again," I said as the four of us: Razer, Jun, Nina and I, sat at a table. "How's that peace treaty going?"

"Fine," Razer replied. "I left Meeps in charge while I was gone."

"You think she can handle it?" Jun asked.

At that moment Damian walked in.

"You're late," Nina said in her non nonsense tone. "Did you oversleep?"

"I didn't  oversleep, just so you know," Damian replied. "Nope, got lost! I blame the Bermuda Triangle..."

Silence.

"No human language can describe the disappointment I'm feeling right now." Nina sighed.

"So is this your council?" Razer asked, nodding approvingly.

"Yep," I replied. "We used to have another member but she's... going to be asleep for a long time, I think."

I saw Damian look away, 

"So, are you guys trying to stay on the peaceful side?" Jun asked.

Razer nodded. "It's going okay so far," he said. "Currently Stella has left to go hunt Lance down. Actually, I heard she struck a truce with Abigail to achieve this."

"Holy shit," I said. "Rain's girlfriend is working with his ex girlfriend? Wow, talk about a miracle."

 Razer burst out laughing. "How's the relationship with the Terrayite Kingdom?"

"It's going okay," I replied. "Nobody has attacked each other too much, and Andrew and Lady Azura are on friendly terms with us at least."

"That's good to hear," he said. "How is Andrew?"

Jun snickered with Nina shushing him.

"He's doing fine," I told him. "He misses you."

I saw Razer blush.

"Well, my new job is keeping me busy lately," Razer said with a sad look. "So, if you see Andrew, tell him I really miss him." 

"I will," I promised, just as a portal suddenly appeared out of the blue.

We all looked in shock when we saw who they were, Razer especially.

It was Meeps, Kyle, Kirtanta and Alex.

Kirtanta's face was full of shame, Kyle looked upset, Meeps looked disappointed with Kirtanta, but also with herself, and Alex... his face was full of fear.

"W-what is the meaning of this?" Razer stuttered, finally breaking the silence.

"Somebody snuck past us," Meeps said. "I was not aware due to some idiotic souls complaining about he deserved better than what he got until Tsuki told me."

She sighed. "I'm very sorry to conflict you, but I don't feel like I have the right to give a punishment."

Razer nodded. 

"Alex told me he let you come!" Kritanta protested. 

"THAT'S BULLCRAP!" Kyle yelled. "LIAM IS MANIPULATIVE THAT WAY!"

Omg, he called Alex, Liam.

Everyone else, but Nina and Jun was shocked.

"Who's Liam?" Jun asked.

"I'm assuming it's that guy with the terrified expression in his face." Nina replied.

Damian turned and began filling the two in.

"Come on!" Alex said. "I just wanted to see how my best buddy was doing..."

"You never asked how I was before..."

I felt a pang of pity not only for Alex but also for Kyle.

"Hold him down," Razer commanded, and Meeps moved and held down Alex.

Alex squirmed, and usually, a person like Alex could easily overpower Meeps, but the smaller one was holding Alex in such a way that sheer strength wasn't enough.

Razer glared at Alex. "What you did," he said. "You broke the rules. It's as simple as that. Usually, we would kill you or at least make you suffer for a bit, but I'm going to be merciful this time. I understand that you might have had good intentions, but you still need a punishment. A reminder. A simple scar won't even be that bad compared to the punishment you'd usually get."

Alex turned pale and screamed, and with one unexpected maneuver, he launched Meeps off of him and swung an axe.

Kirtanta screamed, Damian gasped in horror.

As we watched Razer's head get sliced off.
