Moon's POV

While everyone was doing their own thing, Sheila and I decided to take a tour on the beach.

"It's beautiful," I breathed.

"Isn't it?" Sheila agreed. "I never understood how you all lived in such a snowy place."

"I didn't live there for long," I reminded her. "Besides I wore long sleeves."

"Who wouldn't wear long sleeves?" Sheila asked.

"Stella," I said. "And Kyle, just to name a few."

Sheila snickered.

"Hey..." I said, noticing some strange movement in the water. "I think somebody else is here..."

Sheila drew our her duel katanas. "I'll take care of this," she said.

I took a step away from her, a little hesitant.

"HEY YOU!" She yelled. "I COMMAND YOU TO SHOW YOURSELF UNDER THE ORDER OF THE PRINCESS! IF YOU DON'T, I'LL BUTCHER YOU ALIVE!"

She shouldn't have added that last part.

Suddenly a huge stream of water blasted Sheila in the face.

"Sheila!" I cried, running up to her.

"THAT BASTARD!" Sheila screamed.

Well, at least she's okay.

"Let me handle this," I said with an eye roll.

I walked up to the water.

"Hello?" I said. "My friend didn't mean that, we just want to know if you're a threat or not."

"If I'm a threat?" A light musical voice said. "That's very funny coming from humans."

The thing underwater surfaced and my eyes made contact with grayish-blue eyes.

It was a girl, maybe thirteen or fourteen years old, if I had to guess.

"How long were you underwater?!" I asked in disbelief.

"Almost my whole life," the girl said. "Except when I decide to take a walk."

"OH MY GOD, SHEILA! IT'S A MERMAID! LOOK!" I squealed.

"Nothing gets past you," Sheila said in a deadpan tone.

As Sheila walked over, the girl let out a squeak and dove under water.

"WAIT," I screamed. "COME BACK!"

The girl returned.

"Sorry for how I acted," Sheila said. "I... was only joking about the butchering."

The girl nodded.

"Oh!" I said. "I forgot! We should introduce ourselves. My name is Moon, and the other girl is Sheila."

"Princess Sheila," Sheila amended.

"Yeah whatever," I said.

"You're royalty?" The mermaid asked.

"Yep!" Sheila replied, proudly.

"Can I call you Senpai?" She asked.

"Only if you tell us your name," Sheila replied.

"Okay!" The mermaid said. "My name is Shizuku, oh! and I'm a nymph, not a mermaid."

"That's a beautiful name," I said.

"Thanks," Shizuku replied.

"Quick question..." I said. "Do you know who Arielle is?"

"I-" Sheila said, before groaning.

"You know, the Little Mermaid?" I continued.

"Oh, you mean that old legend?" The nymph asked. "Yeah, I know it. It's a story we read in class, the teachers tell us. Don't fall in love with humans or you'll turn into sea foam!" She paused. "Which is weird, because we're nymphs not mermaids."

Wait, what?

"SEA FOAM?!" I asked.

"Yeah," Sheila said. "She turns into sea foam in the end."

"But I thought..." I stammered. "I thought that they got married and lived happily ever after!"

"Moon..." Sheila said. "That's the movie adaption."

"That's the adaption that you humans made to make you look like the good guys." Shizuku told me.

"Oh," I said.

"You want to go to where we live?" I asked.

Shizuku nodded.

Shizuku leapt out of water.

"So cool," I said.

She was also very beautiful as well as cute.

"Are we going to where you and Senpai lives?" Shizuku asked.

"And our friends!" I told her, dragging the small girl along.

"W-wait! Quick question," she said.

"What?" Sheila asked.

"Are there men, Senpai?" Shizuku asked.

"Yes," Sheila answered. "Of course there is!"

Shizuku turned pale. "Maybe I should..."

I grabbed her before she could run away. "Nope! You're coming with us!"

"B-but there's men..." she whimpered.

We gave her a weird look, before...

"You're afraid of men, aren't you?" I asked.

Shizuku nodded.

"Well, this is going to be interesting," Sheila commented.
