After my encounter with the prince, my days went by steadily.

As per usual, I did my chores, tended after my siblings, helped my Father, and did my work at the infirmary. Ever since the day I met Loki, my days went through each monotonous movement just as they always did. However, one aspect had changed. Since meeting the young prince, I couldn't contain my curiosity. I caught myself consistently thinking about him.

More often than not, I found myself having to stop myself from thinking about him. As I went through my routine, I couldn't help but wonder how his wounds had healed, if his rib still hurt, and so on. After his return, I had also found out the reason for his arrest. This only caused me to wonder about him even more. Why did he attack Midgard? Was he truly the villain? Why were his blue eyes so awfully captivating?

Three days had passed from when I first met Loki. On my way to make breakfast for my sisters, a knock came to our cabin's door. Hastily, I threw on a robe over my shift before opening the door.

To my surprise, I was greeted by a herald of Odin.

"Are you Sigyn Iwaldottir?" he asked politely.

"Yes...have I done something wrong?"

He shook his head, "No, m'lady. On the Contrary, his highness, the Allfather wishes for you to join him in the palace on contract to oversee his son's healing."

"His son's healing? Forgive me, I thought the palace was well equipped in their own infirmary...why me?

"Prince Loki has refused all and any care, he requested that you be the only healer to tend to him. We ask that you come to the palace at once," the Herald explained.

I nodded. I glanced back inside. I felt a rush of excitement. I couldn't believe I was personally called for by the Prince of Asgard. Furthermore, I had a reasonable excuse for escaping my routine. Surely, I thought to myself, my family would understand...besides, it's only a short trip and before I know it I'll be back home, back to my responsibilities.

Quickly, I. gathered things for my healing, wrote a quick note to my Father, and put on more decent attire before meeting the Herald once more.

Outside, he held the reigns of two horses and before long we were riding swiftly to the castle. As we rode, the forests of Asgard swiftly passed by us. In the early morning light, I could already see the dazzling glow of the palace from miles away.

As we rode, I couldn't help but feel jittery. For so long, my life was confined to my village. I had never been to the Asgardian capital. The reality of my venture to the palace on behalf of the Prince's beckoning was nearly unbelievable. I found myself smiling all the way there.

As mundane as this may seem, this is the most adventure I had had in a very long time.
Riding into the capital, I couldn't help but gawk and stare at the wonders around me. Everything was gilded and glittering. The road seemed paved with the finest metals, and each building was at least twice as large as my home. Even the market seemed exotic and special as vendors sold gorgeous fabrics, delicacies, and leathers. Every lady was draped in gorgeous fabrics and their hair was braided in gorgeous fashions. Each man looked dignified and strong. This was much different from the village where many were considered lucky to have a dress without stains or rips. Around this opulence, I felt very out of place

As we arrived at the palace, my heart was beating out of my chest. I was becoming more nervous than excited as I remembered the reason for my visit. I was to tend to Prince Loki, the prince of Asgard and their newest prisoner.

As I walked through giant gilded gates, making my way into Odin's courts, I did my best to show that I belonged here. I kept my chin raised despite my nerves and walked with poise. Despite the rags I wore and the fact that I couldn't even dream of such a life of luxury, I made sure to emulate the fact that I was here on royal request.
