SIGYN'S POINT OF VIEW

My throat felt as though it was closing and though nothing was ultimately wrong, my heart was beating out of my chest. I couldn't focus on a thing but my panic. As I walked backed to the cottage with Loki's hand in mine, I couldn't help but wonder if his worry regarding Mr. Banner was valid. I thought to myself, why is Banner here? The last time I had met the green giant was all because of Thanos. I had fought and schemed alongside Banner in hopes of saving the world. And now, here he was again after nearly five years of silence.

Thor nor Valkyrie and certainly not I had heard a single word from the Avengers in recent years. There was not a single ounce of correspondence and I hardly knew which of them had survived the snap. But, something about Banner's sudden entrance into New Asgard told me something was happening. And judging by Loki's unease, I knew he sensed the upset as well.

"I don't like that that monster is here," Loki muttered as he opened the door to the cottage, "I know you say he's friendly and that he's...trustworthy, but I can hardly understand why he would just drop by."

"I know," I sighed as I turned on the lights to the cabin, watching as Loki began to pace.

"He has no reason to be here," Loki added, "And the fact that he wanted to talk to Thor is..."

"Worrisome," I finished, "I know."

Loki nodded, stopping for a moment to look at me. His green eyes traced my figure and I could tell he was pondering something. Beneath the green gaze, I could nearly see the cogs turning within his mind.

"What is it?" I asked wearily as I walked towards my husband.

"Forgive me if this is obvious," he said with a melancholy laugh, "But I hardly think that Hulk is here to visit and...catch up."

"I don't either," I seconded, looking out the window and towards Thor's cabin.

I couldn't help but feel suspicious of Banner's motives. He and I were acquaintances at most and as far as Thor went, they were no more than friends from work. There was no reason for him to drop by, especially with that Raccoon alongside him. I was more than suspicious of Banner's motives, there was no way that this visit was innocent at heart. Banner was planning something alongside the Avengers and I already knew deep within me that it had something to do with the titan Thor had slain years ago. Though I didn't know the means of revenge they planned upon Thanos, I was wary about it nevertheless. As I looked at Loki, thinking of how I had just got him back, I feared I was soon to lose him once again.

"This is about Thanos," I said quietly, unable to meet Loki's gaze as I continued, "They're going to do something to try and bring everyone back."

"How do you know?" he asked cautiously as he turned towards me.

I took a deep breath and explained, "I don't. I just know, something about it all, about today...I just know."

Loki took my hands, facing me towards him. I looked up into his stark green eyes and felt a sense of calm rush over me despite all of my anxieties. Loki's touch and sight soothed me immensely.

"Whatever it is," Loki began, gently rubbing the back of my hand with his thumb, "I'll keep you safe from it all. As long as I'm here, nothing is going to happen to you or Hela. I promise it."

Despite my fear of the future, I couldn't help but smile. I embraced Loki tightly, holding onto him tightly and firmly. To my surprise, I trusted his word. I felt truly safe in his presence and I completely believed his promise to me. Something about Loki's time in the TVA had truly changed him, he had learned from his lifetime of mistakes and was devoted to our little family unlike ever before. When I heard Loki make that promise to me, I genuinely believed him. I trusted him. And in the weeks to come, the trust I felt in that moment would prove instrumental.
