When Katherine arrived back home, after her run-in with the pirate, things were tense. "Where have you been?" her mother asked.

"I don't know why you ask. You were probably watching me through a mirror" Katherine said, knowing her mother had a habit of invading her privacy.

"You'd be right. I thought I told you not to go into that tavern anymore. You're the princess! You can't be seen...mingling with those kinds of people" Regina exclaimed.

"You know maybe if you mingled a little more they might not hate you as much," Katherine said. "Oh don't think you're so innocent. We both know these people think Snow White is the true princess" Regina said.

Katherine huffed and clenched her fist together. "Are we done? Or do you have more hurtful words to get off your chest?" she asked.

"Who was that man you were with?" Regina asked. Katherine rolled her eyes, done with her mother's questions. "He was no one," she said. "I'm going to bed."

Katherine marched down to her room, using her magic to slam the doors shut behind her. In a fit of rage, she picked up the closest thing to her and threw it to the other side of the wall.

It was a bottle of perfume that crashed to the ground, glass shattering everywhere.

"What did that bottle ever do to you?"

Katherine jumped and turned around, seeing Killian walk out of the shadows in her room. She reached a hand out and before he could blink he was frozen, unable to move anything except his mouth.

"You're either an idiot or you have a death wish. Maybe both" Katherine said, standing her ground.

"Neither. Just here to talk, love. That's all" he said. Katherine scoffed as she looked at him.

"Yeah, right. Give me one good reason why I shouldn't call the guards or worse, my mother, and have you executed?" she asked.

"Because I'd have a really hard time apologizing without my head," he said.

"Apologize?"

"Aye. For earlier. I didn't mean to make it seem like I was using you for information on the Dark One" he said.

"Were you?" she asked.

Killian sighed and decided the truth was probably his best bet. "At first," he said and groaned in pain as the hold on him tightened.

"But...but it didn't take long for me to forgo that mission," he said.

"Why?"

"Because I wasn't expecting you to be so...beautiful," he said. Katherine couldn't help but laugh. "Really? That's the best you can do?" she asked.
