Killian, Emma, and Katherine sat around the dining table, trying to piece together what had happened during the year they all were separated. Killian was the only one with any real insight but even he didn't know everything.

"Snow and the Queen settled their differences," he said, as Katherine poured them all a drink now that it was what Emma considered appropriate drinking hours.

"What did you do?" Katherine asked.

"Well as much as I've grown tolerant of your mother she's not exaclty who I'd chose to spend my time with. So while I tried to search for a way back here, I went back to my old life. A pirate's life" he said.

"Glad to see you haven't changed," Emma said, taking a sip of her drink. "There wasn't anything for me in the enchanted forest. The only reason I was there to begin with was for Katherine. Why would I have stayed?" he asked.

A small smile adorned Katherine's face but she couldn't help but feel guilty even if that was not what his words intended. It was true that she was the reason he stayed and he told her he was happy. That one day they'd leave together.

But what if that year away, truly being a pirate again, reminded him of how much he missed out on being with her.

"And all was well, until I got a message," he said. "A messsage saying that there was a new curse. And everyone had been returned to Storybrooke. The message told me that their only hope was-"

"The savior" Emma mumbled. "Well did the note say who did it?" Katherine asked. "No. But it had to be someone powerful enough to reach into this world" Killian said.

"Any more specific thoughts?" Emma asked. "Alas, you're the Savior. Not me" he shrugged.

"God, now I have to figure out how to explain this to Henry" Emma sighed. "I could only scavenge togehter enough for one dose of memory potion. I knew the necklace would work on Katherine" Killian said.

All of them looked up as the buzzer in their apartment went off, letting them know that someone was outside.

"Who's that?" Killian asked. "I don't know" Katherine mumbled, as she walked over to the intercom. "Yeah?" she called, pressing the button.

"It's Walsh," he said, his voice staticy from the intercom.

"Henry invited him" Emma sighed, forgetting he was supposed to be coming over while Henry was staying at a friend's house.

"Well what are you going to say to him?" Katherine asked. "I have no idea. But I have to say something. I care about him too much to drag him into all of this" Emma said, grabbing her coat.

"Wait here. I'll be right back" she said, walking out the door.

Walking back over to Killian he smirked, pulling her in between his legs. "You know, Emma told me something interesting when I saw her yesterday," he said.
