When Emma, David, and Mary Margaret walked out of Echo Cave with Neal, they didn't know what scene they would find.

Finding Katherine pressed up against a tree by Killian, both so focused on each other that they didn't even hear everyone coming. It was a wonder they could even breathe.

Emma cleared her throat as they slowly pulled away from each other, staring at smiling at each other before they turned toward the rest of the group.

Katherine brushed her hair down with her fingers as she glanced at Neal. "So, you are alive?" she said.

"Yeah, uh, thank you by the way," Neal said, still getting used to the fact that she was his younger sister.

"Well don't thank us yet. We still need to get Henry and get the hell off this island" she said. "But I did find your star map."

"You did? I didn't think anyone would figure that out" he said. "Well, we are related. Guess we think alike. So can you use it to get us out of here?" Katherine asked.

"If we can find Henry, I can get us home," he said.

"Then let's go get Tinkerbell, and retrieve the boy," Killian said, as they all followed him into the jungle, ready to go home.

They walked back to their campsite where they stopped to rest and Neal filled them in on his exit strategy. And it was not one any of them were prepared for.

"Pan's Shadow? That's your way off the island?" Emma asked.

"Unfortunately, it's the only way," Neal said. "We thought you learned how to navigate the stars," David said.

"I know how to navigate the stars," Neal said. "But I can't fly."

"I'm guessing that's where the shadow comes in," Mary Margaret said.

"I'm sorry. Am I the only one freaked out by the fact that Pan's shadow is not attached to his body?!" Katherine asked.

"We have to capture it," Neal said.

"Capture the shadow? The one that again is for some reason not attached to him?" she asked.

"Pan's shadow is an entity unto itself," Killian said. "It can carry out his will from miles away."

"What does that mean for us?" David asked.

"It means we can get his shadow without having to be anywhere near Pan. As long as we know where to look" Neal said. "I know where to look."

"Okay. You and I are on shadow duty" Emma said to Neal. "I volunteer to do anything else that doesn't have to do with the shadow," Katherine said.

"Actually you should come with us. We might need your magic" Neal said. "I'd really rather not," she said, shaking her head.
