Feeling the bite of the cold water on my face, I looked up into the mirror and stared at my reflection, taking note of the dark circles underneath my weary (e/c) eyes. Perhaps going out hadn't been my best idea yet, a thought that was simply reinforced by the yawn that stretched my jaw muscles almost painfully, but my friends hadn't exactly given me a choice in the matter.

Splashing some more water on my face, I looked for some paper towels to dry off with, only to spot the dented old hand dryer on the wall instead. With a sigh, I went over and pushed the scratched and tarnished button to turn it on, drying my hands as quickly as the air would allow before turning the air vent towards my face. Sadly, the warm air simply made me feel tired all over again, bringing me back to where I was when I came into the bathroom.

Letting my shoulders slump down in exhaustion, I pulled the door open and walked back into the main room, the noise level around me loud enough I could feel the thrum of the music in my bones. Surprisingly, it still wasn't enough to keep me fully awake as I stumbled my way slowly to the booth I had been sitting at.

"Hey, are you okay?" The deep voice, combined with the warmth of the hand that came to rest on my shoulder, sent a wave of heat through my body that finally came to rest somewhere deep in my stomach.

Looking up at the person who was standing before me, his red eyes seeming to stare straight into my soul, I felt my jaw drop as my (e/c) eyes slowly raked down his slim yet well muscled build. The slightly too tight t-shirt that clung shamelessly to his body, the low-rise jeans that barely managed to hang on to his slim hips with each movement he made, the belt seemingly just for show rather than function.

I could feel the heat in my belly sink a little lower as I looked back up and saw the sinful smile that he was giving me from under his maroon hair, the hand on my shoulder slowly lowering down my arm until he had hold of my hand and was suddenly pulling me along behind him. It wasn't until we were outside the building and the noise was cut off that I even realized I should be trying to find out where we were going, let alone who the heck he was in the first place.

"Umm... Excuse me but-" I could almost feel the vibrations of his laughter as he turned to look at me again, cutting off my words as I kept trailing behind him down the sidewalk.

"I'm Rin, I think you're cute and I'd like to take you someplace a little quieter for a very late dinner or really early breakfast, depending on what kind of schedule you keep. Either way, I'd really like to get to know you better so that when I kiss you later on, you'll be less likely to slap me." The sharp-toothed smirk on his face had me slightly worried as to  just what kind of kiss he had planned that he worried I would slap him for it.

"You do realize that we just walked out of a club where people tend to hook up a lot, right?" I couldn't help but ask, wondering how often he himself hooked up with people and why he would choose me tonight.

"Yeah, but you're not the kind of girl to just hook up with anyone who comes along. Besides, I wouldn't want to be an idiot, not after having worked so hard to get your friends to make sure you came to the club tonight. I didn't choose you for something as cheap as a simple 'hook-up' after all." My eyes wide in shock at his admission, I suddenly understood why my friends had been acting so excited about bringing me with them.

Maybe this wouldn't be such a bad night after all. Even if I couldn't seem to stop yawning. Besides, my friends wouldn't set me up like this if the guy wasn't someone they thought I would get along with, so why not give him a chance?

"So I guess that means this is our first date?" I asked, almost giggling at the unexpected blush that tinted his cheeks.

What an innocent reaction. It was actually rather cute and I couldn't help but smile at him, my fingers wrapping around his as he continued to hold my hand, an almost shy grin appearing as he looked over at me before answering.

"I'm hoping the first of many."
