Damon woke up with a sleeping Bonnie next to him, he quickly gave a peek under the covers to see if something happened but they were both clothed. Damon tried to wake up Bonnie but she was sleeping deeply so he stayed next to her, still with his arm wrapped around her and his hand on her belly, under her top, making him feel her soft skin.

"Who knew you would be the one I would really count on?" Damon whispered to a sleeping Bonnie while caressing her belly.

Damon and Bonnie always had this hate-love relationship but right now he felt Bonnie was the only one who actually cared about him and he was starting to enjoy having her by his side.

He knew Stefan cared about him and that he was also suffering from the whole Elena thing and, because of that, Damon couldn't talk with his brother about how he was feeling, it wouldn't be fair and would make it seem that Damon has been praying for Elena and Stefan to break up so he would have a chance to be with her. Damon knew very well that now everyone would be concerned with Elena being a new vampire and Stefan handling the break-up. Caroline was best friends with Elena and Stefan and liked to see them together, besides he and Caroline could be now in good terms but that doesn't mean she was okay with listening to his problems; Matt was too busy with working and staying alive as human; He and Tyler were never that big of friends; then there was the Mikaelsons and that would be a no; he also thought Bonnie would be too busy with her distant relationship with Jeremy, Elena being a new vampire and Stefan dealing with the break-up but Bonnie was the one who also was concerned with him, which took him by surprise, since he was already telling himself that no one would care about his hurting feelings.

Damon was surprised that after all the bad things he did, Bonnie was still there for him and being concerned with him. He didn't know why Bonnie didn't turn her back on him or told him that he deserved to suffer but he knew that he wouldn't let her down.

*Meanwhile*

April woke up with her father calling her because she had forgotten to ask his permission to have a sleepover at Rebekah's place.

"Dad, I'm sorry. I completely forgot. I went to the movie festival and then Rebekah asked me to come to her place to talk for a while and we fall asleep."

"Don't let this happen again, April. I worry about you. You know how many people have been killed by these... dangerous animals that sometimes find their way out of the woods. This might be a small town but it's dangerous."

"Yeah... I know." April said but she never saw why her father said it was so dangerous when there were places way more dangerous than this small town.

April blamed her father's concern with her mother's death and for how much she tried, she felt there was an invisible wall between her and her father. She knew her father was trying to be a good father, but him sending her to a boarding school after her mother died and let her spend years abroad didn't help on their relationship, it only hurt it more because he wasn't there to comfort her and was not there to see her growing up.

"I'll see you after classes." Her father said and after saying their goodbyes she hung up.

"Strict parents?" Someone said, making April jump and turn around to face Kol. "Sorry. Didn't meant to scare you."

"It's fine. And it's only parent. My mother passed away when I was a kid." April said.

"I'm sorry for your loss."

"I'm also sorry for your loss. Bekah told me that your parents passed away and that you now only have each other to rely on."

"Thank you." Kol said. "Would you like a cup of coffee?"

"I don't want to bother you." April said.

"You don't bother." Kol said and served them some coffee with vervain in it. "Here you go, darling."

"Good morning! Kol can I talk to you in private?" Rebekah said once got into the kitchen and saw April and Kol talking.

"No, thanks. Maybe later."

"Kol. That was only in the form of a question because we have guests. But if you don't want to talk, I can always get something Klaus has kept over the years."

"Really? You too? Fine." Kol said annoyed then looked at April and said. "I'm sorry our conversation needs to be cut so short."

As Kol and Rebekah left, April waved them goodbye as she finished her coffee.

Rebekah took Kol to the office so they could talk in private.

"Kol, do not mess with April. She's my best friend. She is nice."

"Who told you I would mess with her?"

"No one needs to tell me. I know you very well. You're my brother who loves to kill people, playing baseball and sometimes playing human baseball which was what you invented when you use human heads as balls to play your precious baseball, which is the stupidest game ever."

"How dare you? Baseball is an amazing sport that everyone should know how to play

"How dare you? Baseball is an amazing sport that everyone should know how to play. I mean, why do you think there are baseball references when you're talking about sex?"

"Because they had to invent something to make that game look amusing."

"I can't believe we are related." Kol said dramatically.

"But that's not the point. I really care about April. She's been always nice to me. She doesn't know anything about vampires, werewolves, hybrids or witches... She's innocent and she's a good person. Please don't hurt her."

"You might be surprised with this but I had no intentions of hurting her. I even gave her some coffee with vervain."

"Why?"

"Because she was the only one that I could actually talk to last night." Kol said. "She was nice to me, even after you told her to keep away from me."

"It wasn't just you. It was from you and Klaus. You both are reckless when it comes to humans."

"I can see humans more than blood bags." Kol defended himself.

"When Elena was human you called her a worthless human blood bag."

"I changed since then." Kol defended himself again.

"What? Are you now going to tell me that you care about April?" Rebekah asked in disbelief and when Kol didn't say a word she realized Kol seemed to actually care for her. "Does my brother have a crush on a human?"

"Pfft... No! I just liked to talk to her. Besides if I kill her I won't hear the end of it." Kol said and left.
