It was afternoon and April was now with Kol in the woods, taking a break of shooting empty bottles and learning a few self-defense moves that Kol made her learn.

"Kol, this is a small town. I don't have any enemies. Why do you want me to learn to use all of this? Wasn't the taser enough?"

"No!" Kol quickly said. "I mean, I just want you to know this in case something happens. I don't want you to get hurt. And just because this is a small town, doesn't mean that there's no danger."

"I think it's just you being over-concerned. This is why I told you to stop watching documentaries about serial killers." April said.

Kol didn't watch those documentaries, or any other documentaries, but it was the excuse he gave about him being so afraid of her getting hurt. Kol didn't need any documentaries about serial killers to know what monstrous things someone could do, he just needed to see what he did in his past when he tried to make his siblings pay attention to him.

"Darling, I know you don't think this is important but I'm just looking out for you." Kol said.

"Why are you always so worried about me?"

"You know why. I like you... I've never cared for someone like I care for you."

"Kol... You know I'm not experienced in dating... Why do you still want to spend time with me? There's many girls who could make you happy."

"No. I would only be happy with you. But you want us to be friends and I respect that." Kol whispered.

"Kol, you know I do like you. And you know I'm closer to you than I ever been with any other guy. I never cuddled with a guy nor touch him under the shirt. But I did that with you. I just... I don't think I would be a great girlfriend for you because there's things I've never done before that you are way more experienced than me and... I don't want us to try to them screw it up and stop being around each other. I've never felt so close to someone like I feel with you." April admitted.

"Just because I have more experience doesn't mean anything. And if you would want to see if we could work I would always make sure you were comfortable and I wouldn't force you to anything."

"Kol..." April blushed. "You're really sweet. I am just afraid I'm not going to match your expectations. We would probably just cuddle and kiss a little."

"I'm not going to give up that fast. But can I make you a proposal?" Kol asked and she looked at him confused. "If in 20 years from now we will be both single, we will try to see if we could work."

"Why would I be single in 20 years?" April asked, faking to be offended.

"I didn't meant like that. I just... What I meant was..."

"Relax. I was joking." April said with a smile, making Kol smile with relief. "And I kinda like that pact. You better not forget about it."

"How could I forget about my chance of being with you?" Kol smirked, making her blush.

Stefan was in his bedroom with Rebekah, listening to her talk about April while he massaged her feet, trying to help her relax.

"And the thing is that if she starts to date Kol, then she will be involved with this world and she will be in more danger than she is already and she then will have to decide between being a vampire or staying human and if she turns and hates it she might resent me forever for letting her go with it when I know how this can suck so much." Rebekah said.

"Do you still hate being a vampire?"

"No as much as I used to. I think the fact that I now have friends who belong to this world also helps. I do wish sometimes to be human... I mean, they can have children and they can do normal things and they can have a normal life without being in the middle of so much drama like we do and they actually have a shot to have a story like we see in movies."

"I think we also have that chance. My friend Lexi once told me that because we are vampires we simply have more epic loves than humans."

"Which means we don't have one that is The One. We just have long term relationships." Rebekah said.

"Or maybe we have more chances in finding true love that will last longer."

"That's a nice way to see it." Rebekah smiled. "But do you think there's no soulmates?"

"I don't know about that, but I do believe in two people understanding, respecting and loving each other. In two people wanting to spend their lives together and to growing with the other by their side. Even if we don't age, we do grew up, we change and learn from our experiences. Not being able to share that with the person we love, it's too awful and I can't let myself believe that being a vampire won't let me do that." Stefan said and kept rubbing her feet with his thumbs as she admired him.

"Stefan, would you like to go out and eat some pizza?" Rebekah asked him.

"The two of us?" Stefan asked, hopeful.

"Yeah... With April and Kol. Since the four of us are the only singles." Rebekah said and quickly cursed herself for being so scared of rejection that quickly turned a date into a group hang.

"Oh... Sure. That sounds cool." Stefan said with a forced smile.
