the state of feeling bored.

Y/N - your name

I let out an exaggerated sigh as I plopped down onto the couch. 2020, what a fucking year. This has to be one of the worst years ever and to make things worse, lockdown has been initiated and is now in full swing. I had no issue obeying the rules of lockdown plainly for my safety however it does get a bit boring.

After about a week, I couldn't handle the boredom anymore. I did have classes since I was studying mathematics at varsity however that didn't just wash away the boredom. The worst was I was stuck with Victor who was constantly on zoom calls with the rest of his team and always working out. Obviously he did have time for me but it was limited. When Im not busy, he busy and when I'm busy, he's not busy. It's just a vicious cycle that continues in lockdown.

I grabbed the remote to the tv and decided to watch some highlights or "relives" that where showing on the sport channels. This was possibly the worst thing about lockdown, no sport. I'm a sport fanatic. I'm always watching football, basketball, you name it. It was mainly football but I was never picky when it came to sports. How I didn't end up with a sports career is beyond me. I'm a huge Arsenal fan which means myself and Victor have countless arguments of who's better and who has the better skills, etc quite often and I always seem to lose because whenever it's United vs Arsenal, I always end up in a United shirt with Victors name on it.

I watched the Liverpool vs United highlights until I felt a very heavy body plonk down on top of me. "Christ sakes Victor, you weigh a ton." I said as he laughed. He sat beside me and kiss my cheek. He wrapped his arm around my shoulders as we watched the highlights in peace. Mo Salah scored on the tv as I let out a snorted laugh. "Oh keep quiet. We were caught off guard." Victor said as I shook my head. "You've been caught off guard since the beginning of the season love." I said as he let out a sigh and shook his head.

"I'm bored." I said as I leaned into him loving the warmth he was giving me on this very cold and miserable day. "Hi bored. I'm Victor." He said as I looked at him. "Dad jokes when you're not even a dad, nice one." I said as he gave me a big smile. "One day I'll be a dad. Just you wait." He said as I shook my head. I shouldn't wait to have kids with him. He treats me like such a princess. I'd love to see how he treats our children one day.

"How about we do something since you're so bored." Victor said as I looked at him surprised. "Don't you have any zoom calls or anything today." I asked as he shook his head. "I have the day off." I smiled as I nodded my head, indicating yes let's do something. "Okay let's brainstorm. What's one thing that we can do at home together." He said as he pretended to put his thinking hat on. I shook my head as I giggled. I thought for awhile until ding ding ding.

"Lets cook something awesome and bake." I said as he looked at me. Yes we do sometimes cook, once in a blue moon, but never something difficult. Truth be told, we have a chef to make us meals because they have to be healthy but obviously Dave isn't here right now. "Okay I'm in. What do you wanna cook and bake? And will this be for supper tonight?" He asked as I nodded. "It's like 3pm so by the time we are done cooking and baking, it will be time to eat." I said as he nodded. "So what we gonna make beautiful?" He asked as I blushed.

"Let's make lasagna and for desert let's make koeksisters." I said as he gave me the weirdest and most confused look ever. "Koek- what?" He asked as I laughed. "It's a South African desert. I think you'll like it but you can't have to many okay. You're still on some sort of diet." I said as he rolled his eyes. "I'll burn it all off tomorrow." He said as I rolled my eyes.

We stood up and walked to the kitchen. I grabbed all the incidents whilst Victor preheated the oven and put water into a pot. We started off by putting pasta sheets in the water with some salt and then moved onto the mince. "Babe how does this make sense. You love lasagna but hate spaghetti. The logic?" He questioned as I rolled my eyes. "Don't question me Mr." I said as I gave him a smirk. He grabbed my waist as I continues to stir the pot. Soon enough, we placed the lasagna into the oven to bake.

"Okay koeksister time." I said as I grabbed all the ingredients needed. This was a simple dish but very difficult to perfect. We started by making a dough and then braided it. "How the fuck do you girls braid?" Victor questioned as he struggled to braid the koeksister. "If you want, you can twist it. It's better to twist actually but make sure you pinch the ends otherwise it will unravel whilst frying." I said as he nodded. I made sure the oil was hot and once all the koeksisters were done, we placed them into the oil.

"Wait, isn't this basically a donut?" He asked as I nodded. "It gets different now tho." I said as I put some water, sugar, ginger and cinnamon into a pan to make a syrup. As soon as the koeksisters were done, we placed them into the syrup and left them in the fridge to soak. Soon, our lasagna was ready. I chopped some salad and checked the time. "Hey, wanna do something else while we wait for 6pm?" I asked as he nodded. For some reason, 6pm was always the time we ate.

"Oh! Let's make a fort." He said as I nodded. I've never made a fort before to be honest. My parents didn't want the mess so I never made one. We grabbed as many blankets and pillows as possible and within 30 minutes, we were almost done making our fort. It took us awhile plainly because I didn't know how to do one and something kept falling over. Once everything was built, I high fived Victor. "Oh yes!" He said as I smiled. He gave me a quick kiss as we went and got all our food.

We went into the fort with our food, desert and a laptop and put on our favorite show, Ex on the beach. "Wow babe, this is amazing." He said with lasagna stuffed in his mouth. I smiled as I enjoyed such comfort food. Soon we were munching away much to better at the koeksisters I made. "These are so nice actually. You can never make these again otherwise I'll get so fat Y/N!" He said as we laughed. Once we were done, I took everything to the sink and came right back to a very comfortable looking Victor in bundle of blankets. He moved a few so I could cuddle in his arms.

"Thanks for today babe." He said as I kissed his cheek. "Thank you too babe. It's nice that we had the day all to ourselves." I said as he nodded. He kissed my lips as he cuddled further into each other if that's even possible. Let's just say, the rest of the night wasn't boring either.

Wish I had a footballer like Trent AA (he's so hot) to keep me company during lockdown but instead I have my stinky brother who's always trying to fight me. I hope you enjoyed!
