"So wait... All those question's you asked me about demons and stuff... That was for your project?" Virgil nodded as the two of them quickly made their way into the mini-golf course where Patton and the others were already waiting. "The same project you're working on with F-Fion-na?" Another nod and Roman could only feel that itch down his back. His mind pulled him under his memories. He could see her clear as day in his mind and he wanted to physically rip them out of his mind. As if that alone would matter... She's dead and it was his fault.

"Roman, I know that look. It wasn't your fault."

"She was my pet, Virgil. I bound her body to mine. I let her die so yes... It was my fault." Virgil stopped them both short right there at the gate, his eyes searching Roman's as if hoping that the demon had been lying. Roman just smiled as his eyes went red making Virgil's fill with horror. "I am Romulus, Virgil. What I did in the past... We can't just ignore that it happened."

"If this is because of Fiona..."

"It's not." Roman deflated as he looked away, his heart just tanking under all the guilt and pain he's felt for so long. "Not... Not just because of her. I can't change who I am Virgil. I so desperately want to. God... If I could change WHAT I am I would be so happy... but that's not possible."

"Roman Black, you listen to me." Roman cringed under the sudden command making his eyes dart up to meet Virgil's serious gaze. "You HAVE changed. You aren't the same as back then. Would Romulus have felt ANY guilt over any of the things he's done?" Roman's eyes darkened as he shook his head. "No. He wouldn't have. He definitely wouldn't have made that deal with me. You said it yourself. Had you still been Romulus, you would have made that deal with Derek and would be nothing but another one of his playthings." Roman growled protectively as he grabbed Virgil's arms, pulling him into his chest as his eyes started to water. Virgil simply smiled as he gently rubbed his thumb over Roman's cheeks to help calm him down. "The fact that we're here... like this... it's proof enough that you've changed... that things are different."

"I..." Roman choked on his words as he leaned his head against Virgil's shoulder, his body overcome with shivers. "I-I'm s-sor... so-or-ry."

"I know, Ro." Virgil smiled as he gently rubbed Roman's back. "I know." Roman trembled in his grip as Virgil chuckled softly. "Are you going to be ok? Or do we need to go home?"

"No. No... I-I want to stay." Roman pulled away frantically wiping his tears away as he forced himself to smile. "I've never done this before, Virgil. I want to know what this mini-golf is all about."

"Well ok then. Take a good look around." Virgil teased as he pointed over at the small hut thing beside them. "I'm going to get us our putters and balls."

"I'll try to find the others." Virgil smiled as waved Roman on, quickly running to get in line. Roman glanced over at where he had spotted Fiona already there and he grimaced with anxiety. He could already feel that panic building, his magic wanting to rage, but he wasn't letting it. He wasn't going to let Virgil realize just how much this was getting to him. He was going to be ok... he had to be. He couldn't let this break him.

"Roman!" Patton giggled as he pulled the demon in making Roman stumble, whose complete attention was on Fiona. "Where's Virgil?"

"He's getting our things." Roman mumbled, finally tearing his eyes from the girl as he smiled down at the puffball that was bouncing on his feet. "So... What exactly is this game? I can't say I've ever played it."

"Mini-Golf?" Roman laughed as Patton's eyes lit up and suddenly found himself being dragged off. "You ok so watch them." Roman smiled as he did as he was told and watched this lady carefully pull back this... metal stick? Roman didn't exactly know what it was. Though considering it obviously wasn't the ball that was placed on the green felted thing, he was assuming it was what Virgil had called a putter. He watched the lady use it to tap the ball forward getting it into the hole the first go and Patton beamed as he congratulated her. "You have to get the ball in the hole. The further along you go through the courses the more obstacles get put in the way. It changes each hole."

"It's going to fun to see who the best of us will be?" Roman smirked at Janus's little jab at him seeing that fire in the witch's eyes.

"Oh?" Roman lulled softly, ignorance to the way Fiona's face just dropped over it. "Is that a challenge?"

"Down boy." Virgil teased as he patted Roman's back making the demon growl a bit playfully in response. "Here. I hope you don't mind. They only had red left." Roman's eyes flashed as his smile fell and he sighed. "If you don't like it we can trade."

"No. No. It's ok. Red is a good color." Roman forced through his teeth as he gripped the red putter tightly. "It's just... not my favorite."

"It reminds me too much of blood." Roman paled at the sudden comment as Fiona cringed and quickly waved herself off. "I'm sorry. That was a bad comment. I didn't mean to..."

"It's ok." Virgil quickly cut in seeing how tense his demon had gotten all of a sudden, and just wanting to calm everything down. "I can see what you mean. We should get started soon though before someone new takes our spot."

"I GO FIRST!" Patton giggled as he dragged Logan over, making Remus and Janus laugh.

"We need to set up teams so we don't all play at once!" Logan tried to call out but Patton didn't care. He was already setting everything up.

"Patton, Logan, Janus, Fiona... Then Roman, Remus, Kai, and I." Virgil called back making Logan just groan and gesture a vague form of acceptance.

"Everybody shh... I'm gonna get a hole-in-one... Right... about... NOW!" Patton hit the ball way off course making him pout a bit, only for Roman to suddenly clear his throat, eyes flashing a bright red, as the ball suddenly swerved and rolled right into the hole. "YAY! Did you see that? Did you see it?! I did it!" Roman smiled softly over Patton's excitement as Virgil just nudged him gently giving him this look. Roman just shrugged, play it off as Virgil gave a soft chuckle.

"Ok... Now Logan." Roman called out quickly ignoring how Janus and Patton both gave him a very soft and thankful look. Logan squared his shoulders as he set himself up clearly far more concentrated on actually looking at what he was doing than Patton was, but then again Patton was just focused on having fun. "Any day now, Nerd." Roman teased as he watched Logan hit the ball only to freeze up as his eyes caught sight of the glare Fiona was giving him. Fiona just blinked and suddenly turned back to game only making Roman all the more confused. Had he imagined it? Or was it something else? Roman was tense when he finally looked up to see Janus at the course. He laughed as he crossed his arms, deciding it was best to just forget about it. "Remember Jan... You're the one that challenged me."

"Oh please? As long as you play fair... I'm sure to win."
