"Hey, Virgil!" Virgil jumped hearing Roman yell out as he plopped down beside him. Virgil growled as he glanced over to see Roman smiling like crazy. "What?"

"You just won't take a hint will you?" Virgil had been trying to get this kid off his back all day. It was even worse because he had all the same classes and Roman always tried to talk to him at some point. He had managed to get to lunch before Roman could catch him but... It did matter in the end. "Are you just following me?"

"Following you? No." Roman giggled as he nudged Virgil's arm lightly making the other growl in response. "I'm just trying to be nice. I want to be friends."

"Well, I don't so..." Virgil went to leave only for his hand to slip from the tray. His eyes narrowed in confusion as he went to pick it up again but for some reason, his hands just wouldn't work right.

"You ok? Your hands are shaking." Virgil shot the boy a dark look as he just sat down and sighed. "Jeez, I was just asking." Roman laughed awkwardly as he looked away and frowned. "Virgil, if you really must know. It's... well... I don't know anyone else here."

"You don't know me either." Virgil rolled his eyes as he went to get his milk, his hands now fine after whatever that shit was. "Look. I am the last person you should ever hang out with and frankly, it's a little disquieting that a boy who would no doubt be the most popular kid in school by the end of the day is trying SO HARD to be 'friendly' to me." Roman's eyes darkened as Virgil visibly swallowed his anxiety. "Considering the last time someone was 'friendly' with me turned to shit... I'm going to have to tell you to fuck off."

"I... can't?" Roman just sat there in a tumble unable to figure out how to work through this. He'd never done this sort of thing before. Every deal Roman's done before have all been... violent. Well, not really. They were either about riches or getting what they've wanted the most... or get rid of thing they didn't want... most people. That's why it wasn't surprising at all when that... Derek... kid said what he did about getting his greatest desire... or even about him trying to hurt Virgil in the process. The only difference now... Roman was NOT that demon anymore. He didn't want to hurt people like he used to. He wasn't afraid of violence and he'll get his hands dirty if he needed to. He was still a demon. It was just... He didn't ever want to be like that again. "Virge..."

"Roman, I really don't want to be the butt of yet another sick joke by some stupid fucking prep so please just knock it off." Roman was actually stunned. Virgil sat there pushing his food around not even bothering to eat it. "Please just go away."

"Oh... Ok, then." Roman frowned as he felt his fingers twitch slightly. "If that is what you wish?"

"YES!" Virgil yelled making Roman actually flinch for the first time ever. "Go away." Roman gave a curt nod as he picked up his tray and left. Virgil just watched as the other slowly walked over the trash bin throwing all his uneaten food away as he left the room entirely. Virgil sighed as he turned back to his own and crashed. He didn't understand what was wrong with that kid. Surely people have told him to stay away. Virgil was literally the most hated kid in the school. Just being around him was sure to cause your social life to plummet. It was better to just stay away.

"Well, shit." Roman grumbled angerly as he leaned against the lockers with this off look. His eyes were subtly glowing red as he struggled to reign himself in. This deal was a tricky one. Not only did he swear to watch over and protect the other... He literally put himself in an odd position. The deal was his greatest wish for Roman's. Sure at that moment it was to be safe and happy and cared for, which Roman swear to do... but just then all Virgil wished for was for Roman to leave him alone... thus making him have to listen. That only added to the struggle.

Virgil was a very scared boy. A boy who felt hated and that everything was hopeless. Honestly, those were a demon's favorite kind of person. There the ones who feel they nothing left... the easiest to manipulate into a deal. Or even just to torture and break...

Roman let out a shakey breath as he ran a hand through his hair. He couldn't just go up to the kid and say... Hey Virgil. We've actually already met before. In fact, I'm the demon from the plachette that you made a deal with, whether you remember it or not. Since we made that deal, I can't actually leave you alone because that would be breaking it and a demon can't break a deal. That would only result in Virgil freaking out or calling him insane.

He had to get in his good graces first. Help him from the sidelines... And then when that's done he can finally start working on his wish. Roman couldn't help but smile as he brought his hand to rest on his lips in thought.

"I wonder what love really feels like." Roman laughed as his eyes flashed a bright an obvious red before finally melting back into green. "It doesn't matter right now. I need to focus on Virgil."

"Focus on who?" Roman froze up as his head whipped over to see a short boy with bright curly blonde hair. His hazel eyes seemed to shine as he smiled up at the taller boy. "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to intrude. I just couldn't help but hear and it looked as if you were conflicted so... I thought I would see if I could help. My name's Patton Rivers."

"It's very nice to meet you, Patton. I'm Roman Black." Patton's eyes went wide as Roman chuckled a bit. "And actually... You might be able to help. You seem like a nice guy."

"Oh, I try to be. Although my boyfriend says I'm a bit to nice." Roman nodded with a small smile as Patton shifted a bit. "I just try to be kind to everyone I meet. I like making friends."

"Well, Patton... How would you like to make one more... besides me of course?"
