"Romulus..." Roman froze up suddenly as a voice lulled behind him. He could feel the energy without even looking behind him. He could smell it too... It was a witch and a very strong one at that.

"I'm sorry?" Roman's voice shook slightly as he turned around to see that damned bitch that had been after him since Fiona's death over 100 years ago. "You must have me confused with someone else."

"No... I don't I do." Roman frowned as he took a hesitant step back. He could just run. He could leave the body and go find another but Roman was fairly fond of this one because of everything it had been through before he got to it and he didn't want to get another. Besides... it wasn't easy finding one anymore... not when he had given himself rules over it. He's had a few different ones since the one that died with Fiona. He's never cared about bodies before. It was just another victim to enjoy torturing but... there was one guy who ruined the enjoyment of it. Or more correctly put his daughter to whom begged and pleaded to be sacrificed instead who ruined it all for him. Love... Just another way it causes pain. Why does everyone want it so badly? Roman just didn't understand it. "Come now, Romulus..."

"Look, Lady... I told you. You've got the kid." Roman stepped back again as he tried to work through his options. The only one that insured his safety was abandoning the body and he couldn't do that. He just... He couldn't leave the kid behind... even if he was already dead. "The name's Roman."

"Why a child Romulus? How old is he?"

"17." Roman grimaced as he tried not to stare into her eyes. "I'm seventeen and I don't know who..." Roman froze up instantly eyes going wide as he glanced down to see the sigil carved into the ground below. "Shit."

"Now what was that, Romulus?" Roman just stared at the devil's trap he was in and he started to panic. This witch was very strong. She could send him to hell for years. He could lose his body... god damn it. He did not want to lose this freaking body. "You really shouldn't lie, Romulus. It's unbecoming."

"It's a self-preserving response, Eve." Eve smiled as Roman tried to scuff the sigil but it was pointless. "What do you want? Why are you hunting me? Last I checked you witches don't give two shits about us demons."

"That was before you killed one of our own." Roman frowned in confusion as Eve slowly entered forward. "You demons and your filth. So hung up on pain and torment, you can't even remember your victims can you."

"That depends how many years ago are we taking about." Roman laughed as Eve's eyes started to glow. He wasn't actually joking though. Sure it was hard as he would often slip back into that mindset he's had for eons but... ever since Fiona things have been changing for him. She opened his eyes to things and started to make him see things he hadn't taken the time to before. The meaning of real pain... Roman's fists clenched as he once again tried to scuff the floor. He really didn't care much about anything but he'd be damned if he let this body go. This boy didn't go through literal hell on earth just to end up lying dead and unnamed in a town that meant nothing.

"How about 100 years. Lady Fiona Kane... prospect witch who died before ever knowing who she was... because you got a hold of her and tore her apart." Roman's heart just stopped as his eyes flashed and he growled.

"I did not..." Roman flinched as this burning sparked up his wrist.

"I told you not to lie to me Romulus." Roman winced as the burned never left. "It's unbecoming."

"I wasn't lying..." The burning got worse making him stop as he just glared over at the witch.

"And here I thought demon's like pain."

"I do... when indicted on others." Eve frowned as Roman just smirked. "Not the response you were hoping for?"

"YOU TORE HER APART!" Roman snapped slamming himself into the very edge of the trap as he growled ignoring the burning that tore through him every time the bitch thought he lied.

"I. DID NOT. FUCKING. KILL HER." Roman's eyes flashed as bared his fangs. "All I did was bind her to me. She was my property. Her grandfather made a deal... His position of power and wealth for the firstborn girl of his family. All I did was take what was promised!"

"You're nothing but demon scum, spouting nonsense about your deals. Admit you killed her."

"I didn't..."

"ADMIT IT!

"FINE!" Roman yelled out as he stumbled back and just tried to calm his breathing. "Fine, ok. I killed her. I'm the reason Fiona died. I'm sorry. Ok?" Roman screamed out as he fell to his knees completely overcome by pain. Was this what his victims felt? He wanted it to stop. That was all he cared about. He just wanted the pain to stop. Did all his victims feel this when he got a hold of him? Was this... fear he felt the same they all did? The bitch wanted him to suffer.

"Do NOT lie to me. Do not say you are sorry. If you were sorry, you would have stopped long ago!" Roman cried out as the pain increased making his hill body feel like it was on fire and burning from the inside out. He was a demon god damn it. Fire shouldn't hurt him. Why was this hurting him so much? "You never stopped. A demon like you is incapable of remorse. I mean... you said you were sorry... but tell me Romulus, that boy you're possessing. Did you pick him because he was so young or was that just an added bonus." Roman whimpered as Eve reached around her neck and glowered as he pulled pouch off. Roman's eyes went wide as she reached in to pull out this glass lens.

"What..."

"I may not care much for your kind but you sir have caused far to much evil in this world to just let roam free."

"Wait..."

"As punishment for your eons of cruelty and destruction..."

"Eve, hold on a minute..."

"I, Evangeline Drowmane, banish you for forever."

"NO!" Roman ran to the far end of the trap hoping, praying for an escape but none ever did. Once a demon in inside a devil's trap, there's no getting out on your own. Eve held her hand out and Roman's vision filled with wide making it impossible to see anything. "Eve, please? Don't..."

"Begging for your life? After all you've done since your creation? I never thought I would see the great demon fall so low." Roman tensed with fear as he clenched his fists tightly. "You deserve far worse... but at least this way my people can keep an eye on you."

"Eve!" Roman jumped up in bed panting and covered in sweat as he just stared at nothing, tears once again falling in streams from his face. He groaned loudly as he furiously tried to wipe them away. "Why the hell does this keep happening to me?!" Roman yelled out as he forced himself up out of bed. Maybe a walk would help. He didn't understand why now after all this time his mind made him have to think about all of that. He wasn't the same demon anymore. He changed.

So why was he...

Why was he still so scared... Roman froze up as his eyes met the reflection in the mirror and he had to stop. He really had changed. He still had that boys body... but even though his image might not have changed at all Roman didn't recognize himself. He wasn't Romulus any more. He wouldn't allow himself to be. So why couldn't his mind just let the past go?

"I need some fresh air."
