The Falcon flies through the air, watching the Ninja rebuild Ninjago City.
"The devourer completely destroyed the city" Aria says as her and Lloyd walk over to the ninja
"It'll take months to rebuild it" Lloyd adds
"And as ninjas it's up to us to rebuild it" Jay sighs
Master Wu and Nya then ride up on a motorbike "guys we found a new home"
The Ninja are sent house hunting. Patty Keys is showing them a worn-down apartment.
"This one-bedroom, one-half-bath is a cozy dream. Who needs extras when everything is in arm's reach? Now, wait until you see the lighting" Patty turns on the light, but the bulb flickers, burns out, and falls to the ground "Uh, who needs lights when you have this view? Heh" She opens the window blinds, but the view was actually a brick wall.
"Uh, why do I smell old people?" Lloyd questions
"Their's no way i'm living here" Aria crosses her arms
Patty looked annoyed "Look, doll. I'm trying to work around your budget. This is all you can afford"
"Come on, this looks...promising. Remember, guys, Sensei told us our main objective is to train Lloyd, not kick our feet up in some swanky suite. If this is all we can afford, this is all we can afford" Cole says
"Don't we need to live in some place that'll make training easier for him?" Jay questions
"Yeah, Jay's right. If we have to get him ready to save Ninjago from Lloyd's father, shouldn't he at least have their own room?" Kai agrees questionably
"Yeah I want my own room too." Aria adds "I'm tired of smelling Jay's feet!"
Jay laughs nervously "We're only thinking about the children, hehe"
"I do have another property that you'll just love" Patty brings them to a fancy room atop a skyscraper "Now, this is the eight-bedroom Hero Suite. Floor-to-ceiling windows, digital wall television, state-of-the-art game console..."
"Uh, it seems a little out of our price range" Cole says
"Oh, sure it costs a little more, but you deserve it. I forgot to mention, there's also a Dragon keep on the roof" Patty adds
"Maybe we can get a hero discount. After all, we are the Ninja who saved the city" Jay says
"I thought Lord Garmadon saved the city" Patty looks confused
"We could get day jobs to pay for the extra expenses" Kai suggests
"We always said we could use a little more responsibility" Zane agrees
"Did I mention the in-house training facility?" Patty shows them the room
"We'll take it!" The ninja shout
To make enough money for rent, they each search for jobs. Jay takes up a job delivering pizzas, Cole becomes a security guard at the bank, Zane becomes a chef at a restaurant and Kai is a party entertainer.
While they all work Lloyd and Aria stay at the apartment training or slacking off eating candy and playing games. The ninja's jobs end up being so difficult that when they return home, they're too tired to train Lloyd and Aria, not to mention they are still nowhere close to making rent.
"my feet hurt" Cole complains as Lloyd brought him over a bucket of ice water for him to put his feet in "thanks kiddo"
"So what about Lloyd's training?" Aria asks
"And what about Aria's?" Lloyd questions
"hey hey, sensei trains Aria, not us" Jay says
"and we'll get to Lloyd's training after rent" Kai answers
"yeah right" Aria mumbles
The next day the ninjas all left for work, leaving Lloyd and Aria at the apartment. Aria made breakfast and read a book. Later that day Lloyd and Aria sat on the couch playing video games together.
"I win" Aria cheers and Lloyd shook his head
"So purple ninja right?" Lloyd questions
Aria nods "yep"
"so what's your elemental power then?" Lloyd asks
"It's-" Aria stopped herself "nothing"
"Nothing? Come on Aria, it's something" Lloyd puts down his controller "...is it your fathers?"
"No!" Aria shouts
Lloyd looks at her "that sounds like a yes"
"You.. wait, you know who my father is?" Aria stands up
"of course I do" Lloyd stands up as well "we've been friends since we were born, I know everything, including the things you don't remember"
"then" Aria grabs his shoulders "you know why I don't remember!"
"y-yeah" Lloyd looks down
Aria lets go of him "Lloyd what happened, why can't I remember?"
"It's.. my fault" Lloyd admits "I-"
They heard glass shatter and they turned to see Skales breaking in through the window. Lloyd grabs Aria's hand, they run to the door and it's locked.
They heard the door nob jiggle followed by Wu and Nya's voices "Lloyd, Aria"

The Ninja run into the apartment to find it empty.
"We shouldn't have taken those jobs" Cole says frustrated
"we should've looked out for them" Zane adds
"Now they're gone" Jay says sadly
"yeah after everything we've lost, Lloyd was the greatest" Kai admits
They turned to see Master Wu and Nya appears in the doorway with Lloyd. They all ran over and hugged him.
"we're sorry Lloyd" Zane says
"yeah we all are" Jay rubs his neck
"we don't need all of this fancy stuff, we only need each other" Kai says
Wu looks behind him and walks away "why do you look so upset Aria?"
"it seems like the ninja are more concerned about the precious green ninja then me" Aria replies looking away
"calm down child, you are no less important then the others" Wu says "Scale's target was Lloyd so the ninja are just concerned about him"
"but I was there too" Aria angrily walks away
The ninja move to the crowded apartment they were first shown so they wouldn't be distracted and could train Lloyd.
"What happened to Skales?" Kai asks
"jail" Wu simply replies
"hey has anyone seen Aria?" Cole asks
"she went for a walk, she will return shortly" Wu tells them
"Lloyd is she ok, was she hurt by Scales?" Zane asks worriedly
"no, we're ok, but you know it was kind of hurtful when all you cared about was me when you came back, she was there too you know" Lloyd says a bit harshly
The ninja look at each other regretfully.
"we didn't mean it, we just..." Jay shook his head "no, their's no excuse for this"
"We're bad brothers" Kai says
"no you're not" Aria enters the room "I understand, Lloyd was the target so Scale's wouldn't have kidnapped me so of course you were worried about Lloyd, don't worry boys, you're fine"
"we're sorry" The ninjas hug her
Aria opens her purple eyes "I know"
