Hey guys.

So I just want to thank all of you for all of the kind messages you sent me. I also really want to thank miss_lavancha for voting for this story for the TVD Fanfic Awards. I've been having a really tough time lately and you guys have all helped me through it in this past week. Some of you already know, but here's the main reason why I was so affected:

My friend Jay was in a fairly severe accident. He was on his fourwheeler and ended up flipping it so that it pinned him down. His phone broke due to the accident, and he was alone and in pain for four hours before anyone found him. He broke four of his ribs, his left arm, ended up with a severe concussion, and he nearly punctured his left lung. He was also under severe exhaustion because he somehow contracted mono while out there. He is still in the hospital and I have spent nearly every day with him. I've even missed a bit of school. I haven't even told me other friends who go to my school (he goes to one the next town over). I just was extremely worried about the whole thing, and having someone criticizing something that I worked very hard on made it worse.

And now, time for something even worse. Last night, I lost someone that has been a huge part of my life for 6 years now. Christina Grimmie was shot at one of her concerts. She was signing autographs when a gunman shot her and killed her, right before he killed himself too.

Christina was honestly such a big part of my life. I watched her go from recording her singing in her room to her being on the Voice and touring with Rachel Platten. She made me realize that anyone can make it. Anyone can keep going.

And now, she's gone.

She had such a beautiful soul. She was so kind and loving and I hate that this has happened. I just can't believe it. I don't want to, but unfortunately, I have to accept it. One of my idols is gone forever and there is nothing that I can do about it.

So, in short, thank you everyone.

And Christina, I truly hope you Rest In Paradise now. You deserved a world far better than this one.

Chapter One Hundred & Twenty-Two

Hayley came downstairs with Hope, followed by Klaus. The curse had stopped affecting both Hayley and Jackson, and Freya seemed to have recovered from Hayley's hit. Now, the four of us were all watching the pair walk down the steps to meet us. Jackson ran forward to see her, after Freya and I had unlocked the chains from his wrists.

"What happened? Is the curse broken?" he asked, hugging them both.

"I'll explain later. We're safe... For now," she said, the exhaustion evident in her voice.

"Good for you," Klaus said with a strange air of politeness. "I'll have your bedroom made up."

Hayley turned to glare at him. "The only way that I will stay under your roof is if I'm in a coffin."

That struck a nerve with Klaus. "If you think I will allow Hope out of my protection for a second-"

"What you'll allow doesn't matter, Klaus," Hayley hissed. "Welcome to a 21st century custody battle. Mom's win them now."

I didn't want another fight to happen, and it seemed that Elijah felt the same, seeing how he stepped forward. "If I may..." Everyone turned to him. "The apartments across the street have recently been renovated. I might pay a visit to the management."

Klaus certainly wasn't happy about this.

"The fact that Hope will never be out of earshot should assuage your incessant paranoia," Elijah said to Klaus.

"So we are to listen as my daughter is raised by savages?!" Klaus asked in disbelief.

"Because everyone here is so damn civilized?"

"You made your bed months ago, Niklaus," I said harshly. "It's time for you to lay in it. You created the problem, this is our solution. You have no say in the matter."

Hayley to us and gratefully nodded. "Put the place in Jackson's name," Hayley said, turning to Klaus and glaring at him. "Klaus won't be invited in."

Hayley, Hope, and Jackson walked away, with Elijah and I following behind. In my opinion, Elijah's plan was perfect. We could protect Hope while making sure that Hayley got to see her without Klaus lingering around.

"This is a good idea," I said to Elijah as we walked across the street and to the apartments. "At least, I think so."

"Yes, well, as you said... Niklaus has no say in the matter, Roseia. Not after all he has done to that girl and her husband."

"I'm honestly surprised that Jackson hasn't tried to rip him apart yet."

"In time, I'm sure," Elijah sighed.

As Elijah and I paid for the apartment and arranged for a years' rent to be taken care of, I could only hope that it was the right thing to do.

I knew that Klaus didn't feel the same, seeing how less than an hour after Hayley and Jackson had moved in, I heard him shatter a glass out of frustration. He was good with controlling himself. But with Hope, that control was gone.

I went to see Freya later on to find her with a couple ice cubes wrapped in a towel, which she had pressed against her forehead.

"Would you like some help?" I asked, smiling a little at her.

She didn't answer, just smiled a little sheepishly at me.

I raised my hand and chanted a small incantation that even she didn't appear to recognize, and she put the ice pack down in relief. "Thank you," she sighed happily.

I grinned at her. "Of course."

Elijah soon came into the room, and he seemed to know that I had helped her because he gave me a grateful nod. Freya smiled a little at him.

"I supposed I was misguided to believe Hayley's return would ease tensions in this house," she said.

"Misguided. Delusional. Refreshingly optimistic," he said, his lips pulling up into a smile. "You're new," he continued, but then his smile faded.

"What is it?" she asked, knowing that something was wrong. I already had an idea as to what he was about to ask us to do.

"I received some unsettling information from Lucien Castle. I don't trust the source, but I trust the two of you."

Only a little while longer, and we were all downstairs. Klaus had a bowl set down on the table which he was now bleeding into, which was to be used as a way to connect with each Mikaelson and see into their future.

She said that it would be better if she did it on her own when I offered to let her channel me. She said it would help her focus.

She wrote their names in their first language and then put her hands into the bowl of blood, beginning to chant. It wasn't long before blood began to come from her ears, and the table began to shake along with the entire compound.

"Freya," I said worriedly as she started to chant in a way that made her sound like she was in extreme pain.

"Freya, stop!" Elijah shouted, touching her shoulder, and Freya suddenly gasped. The table stopped shaking and Freya opened her eyes widely with shock. Then a solemn look came over her face, and before she spoke, the papers caught on fire.

"It's true," she said. "You have a terrible shadow over you. Rebekah, too. If this prophecy is fulfilled, you will all fall. One by friend, one by foe, and one by family."

The one about family seemed to frighten us all the most, especially seeing how Klaus and Elijah had been caught in a feud for months.

But even so, with the Mikaelson family, anything could happen.
