She pressed her cold hand, covered in a rubber glove, to my bare back and I inhale knowing what was coming, she was about to do it. I felt the cold antiseptic wipe hit the bleeding wound which makes me jump from the slight burn. "Okay. Take two death breaths. In one"
I inhale
"Out one"
I exhale
"In two"
I inhale
"Out two."
I was going to exhale but I paused.
"Out two" she repeated
I didn't move.
"Out...two." She repeated once more.
I exhaled slowly. She pressed her hand harder against my back and then said
"Three..."
my nerves kicked in. I breathed heavily.
"Two..."
I knew what was coming, surging pain was happening.
"One..."
"WAIT!"

I stare at the top of the castle admiring the beautiful old building that once flourished in beauty of sparkling gold and new wood. I look at how the metal had rusted over the harsh years and how the wood floors just don't seem as shiny and smooth anymore. I walk up to the astronomy tower and glide my hands over the rusted copper bars. I walk back and forth, making a rhythm with the clicking of my shoes. I hear the beat tap twice as fast and I realize I'm not alone anymore. I throw my head up and meet two grey blue eyes, they were so perfectly sculpted onto his smooth, monochromatic, pale skin. He smiled and stood next to me as I felt like I was being asphyxiated by my embarrassment. I peered over at him, god he was beautiful. I smiled weakly and he returned it just as weak. I tapped my wearing ring onto the rusted copper and tried to get him to say something. "Okay, draco, you've been standing there for thirty minutes and you're not even going to say hi to your girlfriend?"
He didn't say anything but hugged me. "Of course I would. Hi."
"Hi." I said sarcastically smiling at him.
"I... I thought you died."
"Well obviously not."
"I-i know. And it feels so good to hold you again."
I looked at him and noticed blood on his shirt.
"What happened there?" I ask pointing to his soaked shirt.
"Ah that was from a snapped two by four. Fun huh?"
I winced as I could just imagine him being thrown into it.
"Draco..." I started "I am so sorry for leaving you. I shouldn't have. I shouldn't have told you to stay away." I looked down at my hands.
"It's okay." He spoke.
I looked at his eyes with my -watering with shame- ones.
He wrapped his arms around my neck and hugged me close.
"You're gonna be okay." He reassured
"I hope so." I sighed.
"What ever led us to this? Standing in the broken aftermath of war. So stand, in the rubble and hold each other as I cry. What made us this weak? We used to be on top of the world."
"We sacrificed everything for each other." He said stroking my hair.
I just nodded silently in agreement.
"How's your back gonna be?" I pulled up his shirt to see a gash put together with stitches
"I think I'll live."
I shook my head in distaste.
"Looks like that two by four got you good." I laughed.
"Hard fight. Really put him through the ringer." He laughed back.
I held him close and looked into his eyes.
"You'll be okay baby."
"I know we will."
I just scoffed and held him close.
