Gillian's P.O.V.

Dad, Elena, Uncle Damon and I are in the living room, waiting for Mr. Saltzman to arrive. Elena asked him for his help earlier. The bell rings and Damon goes opening the front door while I stay sit next to my father. Elena is on his other side drinking her cup of tea. Few seconds later, Uncle Damon and Alaric enter the living room.

- Thanks for coming, Ric. Can I get you something to drink? Coffee, bourbon? Bourbon in your coffee? questions my uncle while smirking. He shows the teacher the sofa so this one can sit on it.

- Elena mentioned you needed my help, says Alaric ignoring my uncle's proposition.

- Yeah, we were hoping you could help shed some light on the Lockwood family, explains my father while the teacher sits right in front of us. He looks at my dad, then my uncle and finally me. Confusion is shown on his face.

- Now, why would I know anything about the Lockwood's? questions my teacher frowning lightly.

- Well, you wouldn't, smirk Uncle Damon. But your dead, not-dead vampire wife might, Alaric looks down, hurt.

- Isobel's research from when you guys were at Duke together, tells Elena to the man. I watch my teacher from my sit who still isn't looking at us.

- You said that she had spent years researching this town, continues my father.

- Isobel's research here in Mystic Falls rooted in folklores and legends but at the time I thought much of which was fiction, explains us the teacher. He looks so uncomfortable. Talking about his ex-wife is clearly not his best subject.

- Like that amazing vampire story, jokes Damon. I slap him on his arm and my uncle glares at me, frowning. I stick my tongue out before smiling at him.

- Aside from vampires, what else? questions Elena interested.

- The lycanthrope, answers Alaric to her.

- Wait, like werewolves? I ask frowning

- No way, impossible, way too Lon Chaney, responds Damon while saying the second ''way'' word longer than the first one.

- Is it? I ask my uncle before turning my head to look at him. He stares at me few seconds, thinking.

- I've been on this planet one hundred and sixty some odd years, never came across one. If werewolves exist, where the hell are they? We all stare at my uncle, staying in a dead silence few seconds.

- Why do you suspect the Lockwoods? questions Mr. Saltzman looking at dad's brother.

- Because vervain didn't affect the mayor at Founders' Day but the Gilbert device did and it affected his son Tyler, tells my uncle.

- And at the school carnival his uncle Mason exhibited inhuman behavior when he fought with one of the carnival's workers, continues my father in the explanation to the teacher. I'm thinking about Tyler and the little kiss on my lip that he left before walking away. I didn't talk about it to my father but I don't think I should. Yet. It suggests it's some sort of a supernatural entity.

- We were hoping that Isobel's research could help us figure it out what it is, states Elena and Alaric nods.

- Well, all her things are still at Duke. I mean her office is still there. She's technically still missing, announces us the teacher. Well, that's a good news... I think.

- So can we get access to it? questions Damon. Alaric doesn't answer to my uncle's question. He is hesitating, I can see it.

- Ric, we need to know what we are dealing with. If this wolfman thing is true, I've seen enough movies to know it's not good, tells dad's brother seriously. It means Mason Lockwood is a real-life Lon Chaney and that little Tyler punk may just very well be Lon Chaney junior, which means Bella Lugosi, meaning me, is totally screwed, Mr. Saltzman nods. I look quickly at my uncle and then at my dad before sighing and standing up to go grab a blood bag from the refrigerator.
