Zachariah Salvatore's P.O.V.

Flashback in 1912

- Will you get home all right, Mr. Salvatore? I can send for one of the police vehicles, tells and offers me, my friend, Gerard Forbes. The clock tower just rang in the Town Square and it is night time. The two of us are walking out of a Council Meeting, entering the cold of the night outside.

- Oh, a winter chill never hurt anyone, Sheriff Forbes, I answer to the man, looking at him trying to warm himself up by rubbing his hands together.

- I'm less concerned about the cold front, more for your safety, replies, the Sheriff, looking around the streets.

- One council men's murder doesn't make an epidemic, Gerald, I remind him, smiling before patting his shoulder. Good night.

- Good night, responds, the man, nodding at the same time.

I walk passed the man and begin to walk across the Town Square, alone. It is indeed freezing outside but that won't be the cause of my death, will it? I look carefully around the Town Square, staying on my guards. People are disappearing... Founders are disappearing lately. Better be carefully than not be it. I keep walking in the Town Square when a sudden noise is heard behind me. What was it? I immediately stop walking and turn around. However, nothing or nobody is there. It is only me in the cold and dark streets of Mystic Falls. I turn back around when I feel a sharp pain in my back. Stabbed... I fall on the cold ground before letting my last breath out.

End of the flashback

Sheriff Forbes's P.O.V.

- The mystery is not going to get solved any faster with you yelling at me, Carol, I tell to the Mayor while the two of us are walking across the road, going toward the police station.

- We have two council murders and an attempted murder on our hands. If you have a suspect, it is your duty to keep me in the loop, reminds me and tells me, Carol Lockwood, using a firm and stern tone while sounding upset and worried.

- No, it's my duty to make sure I don't accuse an innocent person of being a serial killer, I reply seriously and as firm as she talked to me. The two of us walk up the front stairs of the building.

- Just, tell me who it is, Liz, insists, Carol, looking at me as we arrive in front of the front door. I stare at the woman while opening the door. I use and insisting glance, telling her that I cannot talk about it here, but I can show it to her. She won't believe her eyes, just like I did...

Damon's P.O.V.

- I didn't do it, repeats, Alaric with a serious and a firm tone to Sheriff Forbes. I look at the teacher standing behind the bars of a cell. I can't believe Liz locked him up in here. I mean, Ric, really? He would never kill anyone in the Council.

- You're arresting him for what this nut job Dr. Fell says? I ask to the Sheriff, frowning and sounding confused.

- No, I'm detaining him. The cell is for his own good, answers, Liz, looking at me before turning back to look at Alaric. You were shot; Dr. Fell used vampire blood to heal you, she explains to the teacher.

- Dr. Fell is the one who shot me, reminds, Alaric to the Sheriff, raising slightly is voice with annoyment and madness.

- Because you came at her with a knife! replies, Caroline's mother.

- Yeah, with a knife I had found hidden in her things! tells, Ric, defending and justifying himself.

- Are we gonna ignore the part where he is one of the killer's victims? I mean, the guy was practically stabbed to death, I question and say to Liz, taking my friend's side and defend him.
