It hadn't been easy, leaving the gang and starting a new life somewhere else. Thankfully the heat from the Pinkertons seemed to leave you both alone, since you no longer ran around with Dutch van der Linde and the rest of the gang, the detectives seemed to loose all interest in you. At least that made the travelling easier.
The hard part was finding a place to settle down, and actually being able to leave gang. They were your family and having to leave them was difficult for both you and Javier.
It took some time and some travelling but you found somewhere nice to settle down, a little farm, nothing too fancy. It was a strange change, trying to escape the outlaw life and trying to live a more honest one. Of course there had been moments were one of you had slipped up, a picked pocket, cheating with a group of gamblers, a bar fight, nothing to serious but definitely what they were trying to leave behind.
Slowly but surely you both began to settle down at the farm, it felt nice to sleep in a real bed, to make honest money, and to not fear where the next threat was going to come from. It felt nice to not have to fight and to be starting a new life, together, just you and Javier.
Of course neither of you had heard from any members of the gang, they didn't know where you went and you didn't know if they were even in the same place or if they had moved on again. Yes, it would be nice to stay in touch but perhaps it was for the best.
"Buenos días mi amor" Javier whispered roughly in your ear as he greeted you 'good morning', it was obvious that he had only just woken up.
You and Javier lay on your bed, in your bedroom, in your house, on your farm...
Your back was pressed against his chest, your bodies flush together with his arm wrapped around your waist securely but not too tight. His face was buried in your hair, holding you close to him.
"Good morning, Javier" you smiled to yourself, not even opening your eyes as you shifted towards, trying to get closer to him if that was even possible.
Eventually the two of you pulled yourselves out of bed and got dressed before heading down stairs. You began to prepare some food, actually having a kitchen to do that in now.
"Hermosa, there was a letter at the door" Javier informed you as he walked into the room, taking a seat at the table.
"A letter? From who?" you asked, turning to face him. How would even be sending you letters?
"Ah, let me look" he hummed as he opened the letter and you walked around to stand behind the chair he was sitting on, you placed your hands on the back of the chair and read the letter with him over his shoulder.
Dear Mr and Mrs Escuella,
Well, I'm guessing that you both share the same name by now. I sure hope you are, it would suit you Y/N.
It took a while but I tracked you down, I guessed you would like an update about the others. They are fine, it hasn't been easy but we are surviving.
We have lost more of us, getting smaller by the week and we all feel like something big is coming. I'm glad you both got out of here when you could. Other than that, we are fine. We miss you but don't feel bad, everyone understands why you left. They support you both.
We all hope that you are both well. I hope that you are both well.
Don't worry about those Pinkertons, I hand delivered the letter myself. Sorry I didn't stop to catch up but I figured you would be sleeping and I had to get back to camp before morning.
~ Arthur Morgan
"Arthur..." you smiled, resting your chin on top of Javier's head. Of course, if anyone could find them it would be Arthur Morgan.
"He's lying, you know. Saying that they are all okay..." Javier sighed as he folded the letter again and placed it on the table.
"I know. He is still looking out for us" you sighed, returning to the food in the kitchen.
"That's Arthur for you" he chuckled. You both missed the gang a lot but you were both thankful for Arthur for convincing you to leave the camp. It was the right thing to do even if you missed them all.
"I have to agree with Arthur though, Mrs Escuella would sound perfect on you" Javier smiled as he walked over to you, wrapping his arms around your waist from behind and pulling your back against his chest.
"Are you proposing to me, Mr Escuella. I have to say, I'm disappointed, I expected a bit more romance from you" you teased as you turned around and wrapped your arms loosely around his neck.
"We have all are life for romance, mi amor" he smiled, planting a quick kiss on your lips, making you smile even harder. "I've actually been thinking..." Javier started but drifted off, not finishing his sentence.
"Thinking about what?" you asked, running your fingers through his hair.
"We are starting a life here, Y/N...maybe we could start some other lives as well" he hummed, his hand moving to rest on your stomach and you quickly caught on to what he was suggesting.
"What exactly are you suggesting?" you asked, smiling at the man in front of you. Your gaze full of love.
"What do you think about starting a familia?" he asked. Javier had been thinking about expanding your little family since you both got settled on the farm, this was your home now and he thought that a child or two would make the whole thing perfect.
"I like that...I like that a lot" you nodded, smiling brighter at him.
"Well, Mrs Escuella, we shouldn't be wasting time" Javier grinned before kissing you, pulling you against him.
"I love you, Javier" you whispered, pulling away from his lips and resting your forehead against his.
"I love you too, hermosa" Javier whispered back with a smile on his face before grabbing your waist and lifting you up, sitting you on the kitchen counter. You laughed before Javier brought his lips back to yours, wrapping your arms around each other once again.
