The Van der Linde Gang & Teenage Female Reader

Word Count: 3200

Living with the Van der Linde gang wasn't always easy, mainly because anyone would be willing to pay good money to see the lot of you killed. But plenty of things made it worth while. The gang was your family, ever since you were young. You saw all of them as parent figures and they all saw you as their child, in one way or another.

Of course it took some getting used too and not everyone took a likely to you at first but eventually you were close to everyone in the camp.

It started with Dutch and Hosea, they found you and invited you into the camp in the first place so of course you were grateful for them. They took you under their wing like their own child just like they had done for the others. Then it was Arthur and John, Dutch trusted them to care for you more than anyone else so you spent a lot of time with them.

After that you started to grow on the rest of the gang, they all loved you and you loved them all as well.

Now, the gang was family and that wasn't always so easy either. All of them where protective over you and that sometimes led to some trouble, but you loved them anyway.

Hosea was one of your main father figures when you first joined the gang. He taught you how to read and write, he taught you maths, and anything else he could teach you. Even though you continue to tell him that you don't want to leave the gang and your family, Hosea still tells you that he wants you to have a better life. He has encouraged you from day one to make a good life for yourself, and you loved him for it even if you had no intention on leaving your family any time soon.

You were feeding the horses with Kieran, talking to him about his time before the Van der Linde gang. He was pretty new to the gang but he was nice, the others were a little hard on him but you decided to befriend him.

"Ugh, the O'Driscolls sound awful. I'm sorry that you had to get stuck with them but at least it brought you here" you smiled at the man as you ran your hand over a horse's mane.

"Yeah they were...they were awful but this place is pretty damn good compared to what I had before" Kieran smiled back at you.

"Y/N!" You heard Hosea calling your name, making you turn around to face him. He was looking at you and waving a book in the air, signalling to you that it was time for one of your lessons.

"Five more minutes?" you asked, calling back with a small pout. Hosea sighed as he placed the book down on the table. "Please?" you pleaded.

"Fine. Five more minutes" Hosea gave in, shaking his head at you but smiling to himself.

"Thanks! You're the best!" you called over to him with a bright smile on your face before turning back to Kieran, who was laughing to himself.

"I don't get it...he treats you like his daughter, they all do" Kieran continued to laugh softly as he looked over at you.

"I've been a part of the gang since I was young, these people are my family. Some of them are more like my parents than anything else, and they act like it too" you explained. You had a feeling that it wouldn't be too long before Kieran was like your family as well.

You loved listening to Javier playing the guitar, ever since you joined the gang. His music had relaxed you as a child and it continued to make you smile, and you loved when he would sing in Spanish even if you couldn't completely understand what he was saying.
