Since time immemorial men have pondered upon the shaky concept of Good vs Evil. To begin with, is there really such a thing as good or evil, or was that a concept borne of man. Every living thing obeys the laws of action and consequence. Why then did man feel the need for such labels?

How exactly does one quantify good anyway? Is it something that has been universally accepted, but in that case why is something that is considered good in one generation suddenly considered evil during another. Same action, same consequence, different label.

Then there are those who theorize that evil is necessary for good to exist, for without evil, there is nothing that can be called good. I find such a proposition troublesome, but at the same time cannot completely deny its hypothesis. Maybe if we had no good in the world, we wouldn't have evil either. Maybe we wouldn't see thieves or murderers as evil. Maybe we wouldn't see priests or holy men as good.

Maybe we wouldn't give two schcucks what happened in our lives, but just keep on going. Almost single-mindedly. But then again, maybe this is all the brilliance of humanity. The ability to differentiate good from evil; kindness from wickedness; love from hate... Maybe this is what sets us apart in the world...

Or maybe we just created unnecessary paradigms that shift with each passing generation....
