Like, with how gentle and loving Slade is, I could just imagine that whenever Kiku is down and out, he takes care of her like this.
Like, he just takes care of her and helps her when she needs him. It wouldn't be uncommon for it to become a routine where she just asks him to pick her up, hug her, or cuddle her, and he just does it because, well, it's his Kitten, and it's an excuse to have her in his arms, and because it makes him feel better too.
And like at the end of the song, when Kiku says "I think I'm sick again", that's just a signal to Slade that she wants a kiss and attention.
