Will ~ Autism

It was Will's first day back at Chicago Med. after being diagnosed with Autism. and he was nervous.

"Will. buddy?" A Young voice spoke.

Will covered his head with his duvet. 

"Come on. Nat's looking forward to see you." Jay spoke 

"Scared." is all what came from Will. 

"I know. but you can do this." Jay encouraged.

Will sighed. and got out of bed.

"Let's go." Will mumbled.

Jay smiled. and grabbed his gun and badge.

"I'm so proud of you." Jay kissed Will's head.

Will smiled. and got into the car. 

After Awhile. Jay parked outside Chicago Med. and walked Will inside.

"You can do this." Jay whispered.

The boys walked in the hospital. and Jay saw Nat.

"Nat!" Jay called.

Natalie looked up. and rushed straight over.

"Hi Guys!!" Nat smiled.

Will got scared of all the loud noises. and Jay noticed.

"Aww Buddy. here are your ear defenders." Jay handed them to Will.

Will placed the headphones on his head. and his world got quiet.

"Here's his bag. it has all his fidget toys. a spare set of headphones." Jay handed Nat the bag. 

"Thanks Jay." Nat smiled.

Jay nodded. and kissed Will's head.

"Alright. I have to go to the district. go save your patients. you got this. I love you buddy." Jay smiled. 

"I love you too bubba." Will whispered.

After a few moments. Jay left. and Will got given easy tasks. so it wouldn't stress him out too much.

Jay stopped at Starbucks. as he needed a coffee. and Erin texted him for one too.

After a few minutes. Jay walked up into the bullpen. and saw the team.

"Morning!!" The Unit greeted Jay.

"Morning. here's your coffee." Jay gave Erin her coffee. and kissed her cheek.

"Thanks babe. how's Will?" Erin took a sip of her coffee.

"Will's good. just a bit scared. but. Nat's looking after him." Jay logged on.

The unit nodded. and got on with work.

Will was at work. and a drunk person was his patient.

"D-Do you wanna lie down. so I can check you over?" Will asked.

"Why. I shouldn't even be here!!" The drunk man exclaimed.

"W-Well. c-can you just let me check you out?" Will questioned.

The drunk man stood up. and started waving his arms in the air.

"P-Please sit back down." Will whispered.

"Oh. are you an autistic kid?" The drunk man asked.

Will was scared now. he wanted his brother. he wanted Jay.

"S-Sit down." Will squeaked.

Nat watched Will get verbally abused by a patient. 

"W-Who the hell put Will with that drunk patient in 4?" Nat looked at Maggie.

Maggie looked confused. then checked the list.

"Oh. I put Will with a little kid with a nosebleed. I have no idea how Will got with the drunk." Maggie wore a sad smile.

"Get me Doris. she's with the patient in 4. I'm taking Will for a break." Nat logged off.

"Got you." Maggie called Doris.

Nat smiled. and walked to Will.

"Hi. Wanna come with me Dr Halstead?" Natalie smiled.

Will walked out straightaway. and took Natalie's hand.

After a few moments. Nat walked Will into the breakroom. and closed the door.

"I got your fidget toys. do you want one?" Natalie sat next to Will.

Will shook his head. he only wanted Jay.

"No. Jay!! I want Jay!!" Will cried.

Natalie put the bag of fidgets down. and spoke.

"Alright. I'll call him. would you like your water bottle?" Nat asked.

Will nodded. and cuddled into himself.

Nat smiled. and handed Will his bottle.

"I'll call Jay now." Natalie grabbed her phone.

Will nodded. and drank his Juice.

After a moments. Jay ended the call. and stood up.

"I have to go. Will's had a meltdown." Jay logged off.

"Take your time Halstead." Voight smiled.

Jay nodded. and rushed downstairs. 

"Poor kid." Antonio sighed. 

The unit all agreed. and carried on working.

After Awhile. Jay arrived at Med. and rushed in.

"Mags. where's Will?" Jay asked.

"Breakroom." Maggie replied.

Jay nodded. and rushed into the breakroom.

"Came as soon as you called." A sudden voice appeared.

Nat and Will looked behind them. and saw Jay.

"Bubby!!" Will exclaimed.

Jay smiled. and walked over to the couch.

"I'm here buddy." Jay settled Will on his lap.

"I missed you!!" Will cuddled into Jay's chest.

"Aww. I missed you too bud." Jay kissed Will's head.

After a moment. Will fell asleep. and Jay was talking with Nat.

"What caused Will's meltdown. I thought he was okay?" Jay questioned.

Nat sighed. and spoke.

"Someone must of put Will with a drunk patient. and not realised that he had autism." Nat explained.

"God. thanks for getting him out of there." Jay rubbed Will's back.

Nat smiled. and nodded.

"I'm gonna take Will home." Jay suggested.

Nat nodded. and gave a small kiss on Will's head.

"I'll see you later Jay." Nat left the room.

Jay nodded. and picked Jay up. then left.

After Awhile. Jay was driving home with a sleeping Will in the back.

"Nearly home buddy." Jay whispered.

After a few hours. Jay tucked Will into bed. and kissed his head.

"Night baby bro." Jay whispered.

Will snuggled down into the duvets. glad he was home.
