Standing at the threshold of the bureau, she gripped the pendant in her hand tightly and looked up at the sky. A wild smile flashed on her face, to be specific a sinister one.
"Then should I consider it a yes?"
She walked out as an answer to his question.
"Lord, did she just reject you?"
"It's her choice." The disappointment on his face was vivid.
"Lord.." The guard at the gate rushed in and kneeled before him.
"The lady asked us to give it back." He presented the pendant.
Vakul grabbed the pendant from his hand. His face lightened up instantly.
"I will be looking forward to working with you."
"Lord, what do you mean by that? Didn't she just reject your offer by returning the pendant? "Vakul turned towards Nilan and patted his head; "She asked me to keep this pendant for her."
The water palace was in silence despite its effusive celebration a while ago. All the guests were sent back. Guards were stationed around the palace to report her arrival. Aras was waiting in the front yard. He was getting more and more anxious about how to convince her.
