Mitch sat crisscross on the couch, his dark eyes focused intently on the TV. The familiar yellow sponge and his pink starfish friend played on the screen, and Mitch subconsciously hugged a pillow to his chest as he watched.

Eventually, Mitch decided he was cold, so he got up to go find his best friend and force him to cuddle with him. "Scott?" he called, wandering over to the kitchen.

And there was a huge, towering figure with a hood and a mask, rattling breaths escaping the chapped lips and a knife clutched in its pale, bony fingers.

Mitch immediately flipped out, screaming for Scott. However, soon after, a familiar laugh filled the air and the figure brushed off its hood.

It was Scott.

He was laughing his head off, tremors of mirth shaking his body so hard he had to set down the knife. As soon as Mitch registered that he was not, in fact, about to be murdered, the tears came. He tried stopping them, he really did, but his heart was still beating rapidly in his chest and his breathing was still quick and short. Scott calmed down enough to notice, and he immediately felt bad, forcing himself not to laugh as he wrapped his arms around his best friend.

"Aw, Mitchie. I'm sorry. Don't cry."

"I hate you!" Mitch yelled, banging uselessly against Scott's chest as his tears continued to flow down his cheeks.

Scott frowned but refused to let go of Mitch, simply holding him tighter. "I'm sorry, sweetheart. I really am. Please don't cry," he said softly, and Mitch just gave up, sobbing into Scott's chest as his shaking fingers clutched onto his shirt. "I hate you," he mumbled, sobbing quietly again. Scott couldn't keep the small smile from emerging onto his lips, but he quickly stamped it out, readjusting his grip to hold Mitch closer. "I'm sorry."

Mitch forced himself to stop crying, sniffling quietly and wiping his tears. "Whatever," he mumbled, rubbing his eyes much like a child. Scott finally allowed himself to smile at his adorableness. "Did you need me?" he asked, a hint of mockery in his voice. Mitch nodded. "Mhm. Come cuddle." He grabbed Scott's hand and led him back to the couch, pushing him down so he was laying on his back.

However, Scott refused to let go of Mitch's hand in return, so therefore Mitch fell on top of him. They laid chest to chest, and brown stared into blue as their breaths quickened.

Before either of them registered what they were doing, their eyes fluttered closed and their lips met, setting off the metaphorical fireworks.

The sound of Spongebob was faint, just in the background. Scott and Mitch were too caught up in each other, too focused on the feeling of the other's soft lips against theirs and the sound of their hearts beating in sync.

When they finally pulled away for air, Scott smiled breathlessly at the smaller man on top of him, running his thumb over Mitch's bottom lip. Mitch smiled shyly back and buried his face in Scott's chest, wrapping his shorter arms around his torso as best he could and turning his head so his cheek was against Scott's chest. Just like that, his attention was directed back at the TV, and Scott allowed himself to laugh quietly.

While Mitch may have been distracted again, Scott wasn't, his icy blue eyes taking in the features of the beautiful man on top of him. He smiled slightly and forced his gaze away, looking at the TV yet not really focused. His thoughts were filled with Mitch and the kiss they shared, and he hoped desperately Mitch was up for seconds.
