Taking a deep breath in to prepare for another year Coral, Fred and George, Neville, Cedric, Michael Corner, Luna, and Sage Merlin walked together into the great hall where everyone was gathering for the new sorting. Taking spots at their normal seat, they realized that the whole RavenClaw table had been pretty much empty other than returning students old faces.

"Why are no new students sitting here?" Neville asked, eyeballing down the empty RavenClaw table.

Fred shook his head and looked at the Gryffindor table that was filled with new students and left them cramped trying too fit all onto one table. "Because of Harry Potter of course. They all know about the legendary Harry being a Gryffindor so that's where most of the new students are wanting to go." He explained, eyeballing the empty Hufflepuff table as well. "Good thing you don't get to choose your house."

The group laughed at the sight of the overly cramped Gryffindor table then nearly burst into tears when a first year fell off the table onto his butt because a third year pushed him off. Coral watched full of amusement while a first year was staring at Harry Potter like a starstuck fangirl, and Oliver Wood who was next to him's face with contoured with an expression of disgust. The Gryffindor's were fortunately used to this with new students every year since Harry had come to Hogwarts. Seamus Finnigan growled as he watched a first year girl try to touch Harry's hair.

Coral was too busy paying attention towards the Gryffindor table, to even notice that a all too familiar platinum blonde was burning holes into the back of her head with his eyes, and that now he had just looked a tad bit different than three months ago. All Draco wanted was for Coral to turn around and see the new haircut he got, the way his face had changed, and how much taller he grew but he realized she still won't give him the time of day and her focus would always be on Harry Potter.

"Draco, are you okay you've been staring off into space for like ten minutes?" Pansy, his girlfriend asked with a feeling of desperation to get attention.

Draco didn't not bother to hear one word that came out of his rather annoying girlfriends mouth, but instead his focus was ripped away by someone who had sat in front of him just then. Focusing his eyes towards the new student he had never seen before, he nearly choked on his own Saliva.
"What do you want, first year? Wait a minute... you don't look like a first year..." He sassily spat out, checking out the boy with green eyes who was smirking at him across the table.

Pansy's mind was filled with devious thoughts looking at the new boy who was overly attractive who had just sat at the table across from her and her boyfriend. Obviously by sitting at the Slytherin table, the boy would be choosing to be in their house. What if she went for him instead of Draco, he might actually give her the time of day. Frowning, she took her attention away from her blonde boyfriend and focused all of it on the boy who seemed to be having a stare down with Draco.

"Phoenix Barlow, pureblood, fifteen." Was all the boy said, before reaching a hand out. "I'll be a Slytherin, I know for a fact."

The mention of pureblood immediately sparked Draco's interest and a smile was shot from his side, completing the offer for a handshake. Phoenix's eyes drifted towards the girl next to him, who he could sense was finding himself attractive. Smirking, he reached out to shake the girl's hand.

"Pansy Parkinson." Was all she managed to nervously say before sweat beads began forming on her palms.

Phoenix could sense the nervousness flowing off of her body, and smirked even wider. He could definitely say if girls were a subject here at Hogwarts he'd be getting an O. "Nice to meet you, beautiful."

Pansy nearly fainted, not even noticing the scowl she was getting from her boyfriend. It was not a scowl of jealously, just a scowl of disappointment from being such a desperate needy girl. Draco reconsidered asking Pansy our on the train again, immediately regretting it because of what happened last year.
Draco had learned his lesson with his friends however and stayed his distance from Crabbe and Goyle, but Blaise was still very close. Blaise was never really bad, he would just stick up for people and his friends when he believed in something but to Draco, Phoenix Barlow seemed to be a miracle sent by Merlin himself.
