Sharon brought over Mariah's coffee and placed it with her brownie on the table. Hi ! said Sharon holding out her hand. Hi! said Tessa you must be the owner? Your waitress told me you would be in soon. I came in earlier and was sitting outside on your wonderful patio area. My name is Tessa Porter. I'm Sharon Newman. Do you know each other? Yeah! said Mariah shaking. We were in Boston together at college and Uni respectfully. Oh well at least you have someone you know in Genoa City now said Sharon best of luck at Jabot I'll see you around I guess? Sharon left them to it. Can I sit down? Tessa asked. Mariah looked at her watch. I know you starting at Jabot today, congratulations by the way! Thanks said Mariah I don't have long. I won't be long Mariah, but there is something I need to tell you before my single comes out said Tessa. Comes out ? said Mariah looking worried. Yes! I guess you know I got signed by Hamilton Winters by now? Yes, of cause I do said Mariah congrats to you too. Thank you. Tessa smiled at her. 

First I need you to know I've missed you. Mariah gulped not knowing what to say. I hear our parents have been keeping secrets? Yeah, I guess so said Mariah nursing her coffee. They have known since graduation that we would be in the same place said, Tessa. She got up and walked over to the counter and asked if she could have another soy latte. She then went back to Mariah. Who was looking at her watch again? Do you want time to fly by so you can get out of here and away from me? Tessa asked. Mariah looked at her shocked. I was just making sure I would not be late on my first day, it wouldn't exactly make a good impression. No, I guess not said Tessa Do you have to leave? Not yet said Mariah and gave Tessa a slight smile. Ok I'll be quick then so you can get on with your day said, Tessa. My first single will be released soon and I have to record it first obviously. Today's my first day too smiled Tessa. But I need to tell you before I tell anyone else, that the song I wrote was all about you. And it's called If Your Not Busy, I wanted to tell you because the press always asks where you get the idea from. They also ask does it have a meaning?

 So I've told you know and that means I can tell everyone else. Mariah was speechless. She'd never had a song written about her before let alone by someone she loves wholeheartedly. "Mariah" Speak to me, please. Are you ok? Err I'm gobsmacked you have written a song for me. I mean we've not dated for over two years. I know said Tessa but this just came to me after you left. I hope you like it when you get to hear it, I'd better let you get to work I'm sorry to have held you up and it's been a bit of a shock knowing you're here in the same city if I'm honest. It's mind-blowing to think that we have this connection so much so that after two years of not seeing one another we get lured to the same place at the same time. I'm going to get this coffee put into a takeaway cup and then I'm off to the studio. I wish you well for your first day. I'm sure I'll see you around sometime? Bye Mariah. Tessa turned and went to the counter. She asked for a takeaway cup and poured her coffee into it. She turned around again to wave to Mariah, but the seat was empty.

Oh well, at least I told her she thought as she headed out. Mariah came back out of the restrooms and realized Tessa had gone. She grabbed her bag and headed for Jabot and her first day with Jack Abbott. God, it was lovely seeing her she thought. That lovely black hair of hers has got so long. She was also intrigued to find out what Tessa's new song was going to sound like. I wonder if I can find out where the studios are? Maybe I can get a sneak peek? I'll have to ask Jack if he knows. Devon was there to meet Tessa on her first full day. He showed her all around, she was amazed by all the tech and she couldn't wait to start singing. Ok Tessa this is your singing coach. My what? said Tessa. Your coach said, Devon. I need you to listen to what she says so we can preserve that wonderful voice of yours. What do you mean? "Tessa," said the voice coach I need you to start doing warm up's and warm down's with your vocal cords to make them more elastic so they last longer. If you don't look after them, then you could end up with serious throat problems later.
