We got enough from Mrs.Dodds for two plane tickets. Obviously we choose me and my brother since we're kind of in big trouble with Zeus right now.

We get to Empire State Building and follow Annabeths instructions. We asks for floor six hundred and show him the bolt to help convince him to let us up.

When we get up there we are met with a marvelous city. We go to place Annabeth instructed. When we walk in the conversation starts off with a quick scolding from Zeus.

"You dare to fly through my domain. I should have blasted you out of the sky for your impudence," Zeus says.

"And risk destroying your bolt? Let us hear them out brother," says my father.

"I brought this uncle, even though I'm not the one who stole it," says Percy.

Zeus's eye look at me like I did it then.

"It wasn't me either uncle," I say.

"It was Ares, with help from someone inside camp half-blood," says Percy.

"I sense you speak the truth. But for Ares to do such a thing is most unlike him," says Zeus.

"He is proud and impulsive. It runs in the family," says my dad.

My brother goes on to explain about the pit and how something's is stirring down there.

" we will speak no more of this. I must go and purify this bolt in the waters of Lemnos , to remove the human taint from its metal. You have done me a service, kids. To show my things, I shall spare your lives," says Zeus," but I do not trust you. You are your father's wrongdoing, and I worry about what your arrival bodes for the future."

With that he zaps himself away.

" oh, brother. You always were one for dramatic exits," says my dad.

" father... I mean, sir? It's Kronos isn't it? Down in that pit. The voice I heard in my dreams. It's the king of the titans," says Percy.

"I fear that indeed," says father, " in the first titan war Zeus cut our father into 1000 pieces and cast his remains into the darkest pit of Tartarus. Yet titans cannot die, no more than God's can. Whatever remains of Kronos is still alive in some hideous way, still conscious in his eternal pain. Still hungry for power."

" he's healing. Kronos is coming back," I say.

" Kronos does stir from time to time, to enter men's nightmares and breathe evil thoughts, to awaken restless monsters. But suggest he could rise from the pit..." say father, " Zeus has closed this discussion. You have completed your class, and that is all you need to do."

" but you can't-"my brother tries to protest but I put my hand on his shoulder, "yes father," he says reluctantly.

" obedience does not come naturally to you. I must take some blame for that, I suppose. The sea does not like to be restrained," says Father," you must go now see you so not be pleased to find you lingering when he returns.."

" right. We wouldn't want to remind him of your wrongdoings," I say looking at the floor.

"Phoebe, Percy.." my father says.

He steps off his thrown and shrinks down to our size.

" I am sorry you were born. I have brought you a heroes fate, and a heroes fate is never anything but tragic. Most of all, I am sorry that our laws forbid me from treating you as a father should his children," he says, " but you have done well today. Whatever else you do, know that you are mine, you are true children of the sea god. Of that I shall always be proud."
