That night I was back in the Poseidon cabin with Percy. It was nice. I curl up on my bed. For once it was actually mine.

"I'm going home soon," Percy says, "to finally see mom again. I was hoping you'd join me."

"That would be nice. I've missed her.... And Paul," I say.

"And... I'm being Annabeth so maybe you should bring you fiancé?" He asks

"That so weird to hear," I say.

"Is that a yes?" He asks hanging his head down from his bunk.

"Why are you so interested in him coming? I mean I'd like to think you just are really interested in my live life, but I know that's not it."

"I just know you. If I don't force you to tell mom and Paul then you won't until a week before your wedding."

I hated that he was right. I was still formulating the plan on how to tell mom. I didn't know how she'd feel about getting married at seventeen, which I wasn't yet but it would take some convincing.

"I'll be there to vouch for you and him before mom can freak," Percy says like he's reading his mind.

"Thanks but even you might not be able to keep her freak in about this," I say.

"Just explain to her how you explained to me. It calmed me down. Which is hard because I'm a bit overprotected."

"A bit?"

"Do you want my help or not?"

"Fine yes. I'll take all the help I can get. I don't exactly want my boyfriend killed by our mom," I say.

Percy laughs. And he lifts his head back up to his bunk.

"Have you ever thought about college? Your future?" Percy asks.

"I'm engaged. I have thought about my future a lot," I say.

"Specifically," he says.

"I don't know. As long as I'm with Travis. I haven't had time to think about college. Travis is going to New York University. To still be kind of close to camp. Honestly I'll probably try to go there. I'm not interested in long distance again," I say.

"What about new Rome?" Percy asks, "The college, the safety."

"What about it? I didn't have same experience there Percy. I know it's a little different now but...Perc, that's where you went missing. That's was the first place we stopped on the quest quest if my life. It beautiful. It really is, but it just does t have the best memories for me. I'm not saying I'll never go to visit but staying there.... It's just not appealing."

"But the monsters can't get in there. It's safe for us. Travis would be fine. His scent isn't strong but ours... well you know all this.

"I don't care about safety. I mean I do in a  sense but I can Homs my own. Plus life would be incredibly boring without a little monster in my life."

"I'll never understand you," Percy says.

"Maybe that's not a bad thing. I've finally become my own person. Separate from you," I say.

"I know. You think I didn't notice years ago. Ever since we got to camp you've been different. You've found your own person, and I'm so proud of you sis,"he says smiling at me.

I look at the floor and smile. I let out a little laugh.

"I'm going to bed," I say rolling over.

"Night pheebs," he says.
