Annabeth and I nervously paced the deck of the Argo ll. We constantly check the white flag. It's our signal for we come in peace.

We begin to assess through the clouds. I stop pacing and look down to the Roman camp. What if the ship looked to unfriendly. We had tried to send a heads up but there's no way to know if they got it.

Leo rushed around the ship checking every little thing. Even fir a demigod, he's adhd. Piper practice some of her charmspeak lines. Then there was Jason. He stood on a raised crossbow platform so the Roman's could easily see him. He'd grown up at camp Jupiter so hopefully they recognize him.

I look over to Annabeth and her body seemed tense.

"What's wrong?" I ask.

"Just nerves I guess," Annabeth mumbles.

"He's down there, Annie. Cheer up?" I say.

"Don't- don't call me Annie," she stutters.

"Hey it's ok. He's waiting for us. He rememberers us Annie," I say.

She shakes her head at me. We look over the edge trying to maybe see Percy. I hear something behind us go boom. We turn to find ourselves face to face with an angry statue.

"Unacceptable!" The statue shrieks .

I take a good look at him. From the waist down he was a pedestal but from the waist up he was a strong muscular man.

"I will not have weapons inside the Promerian Line! And I will certainly not have Greeks!" He yells.

Jason looks at us. He gives us an I got this look.

"Terminus " Jason says, "it me. Jason Grace."

"Oh, I remember you, Jason," terminus grumbles, "I thought you had better sense than to consort with the enemies of Rome!"

"But they're not enemy-" Jason starts.

"That's right," says Piper, "we just want to talk. If we could-"

"Don't try that charmspeak on me young lady. And put down that dagger," terminus says.

Piper glances down at her dagger she must have forgotten she was holding. She drops the dagger on the ground.

"Lucky fir you we were just through a battle. If I were at full strength, I would have blasted this flying monstrosity out of the sky," says Terminus.

Something snapped inside of Leo at that moment.

"Hold up. Did you just call me ship a monstrosity? I know you didn't do that!" Says Leo.

The idea that Leo might attack the statue was enough to snap Annabeth out of her shock.

"Let's calm down," annabeth says, raising her hands to show no weapons, "I take it your terminus, the god of boundaries. Jason told me you protect new Rome, right? I'm Annabeth chase, daughter of-" she gets cut off.

"Oh I know who you are. A child of Athena. Minerva's Greek counterpart. scandalous! You Greeks have no sense of decency. We know the place for that goddess," says Terminus.

Annabeth clenched her jaw. This statue wasn't making it easy to be diplomatic.

"What exactly do you mean that goddesses? And what's so scandalous-" Annabeth tries to says.

"Annabeth calm," I say.

"Oh, you look like the Percy Jackson kid," Terminus says.

"Yeah, and what about it?" I ask.

"Don't trust him. He's shifty," says Terminus.

I step up offended. Jason puts his arm in front of me.

"Right! Anyway, Terminus, we're here on a mission of peace. We'd love permission to land so we can-" Jason gets cut off.

"Impossible! Lay down your weapons and surrender! Leave my city immediately!" Yells Terminus.

"Which is it? Surrender or leave?" Asks Leo with a stupid smile.

"Both! Surrender, then leave. I am slapping your face for asking such a stupid question. Do you feel it?" Asks Terminus.

"Wow," Leo says studying Terminus, "your wound up pretty tight. You got any gears in there that need loosening? I could take a look?"

She pulls out a screwdriver and tries to tinker with Terminus's pedestal. Terminus zaps Leo and he drops his screwdriver.

"Weapons are not aloud on Roman soul inside the Pomeranian line," terminus says.

"The what?" I ask.

"City limits," Jason translates.

"And this entire ship is a weapon and you cannot land!" Terminus yells.

I look down at the forum. I scan the faces and see Percy walking with two other people. He looked so at ease and happy. He wore a purple cape, the mark of a Praetor.

Annabeth was looking fine at him to. Her face does a double take at what she was looking at.

"Leo stop the ship," Annabeth says.

"What?" Asks Leo.

"You heard me. Keep us right where we are,"Annabeth commands.

Leo pulls out his controller stopping the ship.

"There's no rule against hovering over new time us there?" Asks Annabeth.

"We'll no..." terminus says.

"We'll keep the ship aloft. We'll use a rope ladder to reach the forum. That way the ship won't be in Roman soil. Not technically," says Annabeth.

The statue seemed to ponder this.

"I like technicalities. Still...." Terminus trails off.

"All our weapons will stay on this ship," Annabeth says.

I let out a groan. I hate going places without Tidal Wave on me.

"We'll leave all our weapons here," Annabeth repeats looking at me, " I assume the Romans, even this reinforcements march towards us, will also honor your rules," Annabeth says.

"Of course," terminus says, " do I look like I tolerate rule breakers?"

"Annie? Are you sure this is a good idea?" I ask.

"Pheebs, Percy is down there. I have to do whatever it takes," Annabeth says, "besides no one will be armed. We can talk in peace. Terminus will make sure each side follows the rules. Do we have a deal?"

"I suppose for now. You may climb down your ladder, daughter of Athena. Please try not to destroy my town," Terminus says.
