Bummer

I lay on my bed attempting to read the pamphlet from our trip to Olympia. It was hard because all the letters rearranged themselves. Dyslexia is not fun and the ADHD was making it so hard to stay still but the last thing I wanted was to get caught out of my cabin by a walking table with a coach hologram.

"You're really bored, aren't you?" Says Percy hanging his head down from the top bunk.

"No, I just enjoy getting angry at letters on a page and violently tapping my fingers on the side of my leg," I say.

"Hey, you do you," he says.

I hit in the face with a pillow. He throws one of his down to my bunk hitting me in the gut.

"Good shot," I say.

"Thanks, I've been practicing," he says with a smile, "I feel like opening this wound is against my better judgment but I'm going to try anyway. Have you heard anything from Travis?"

"No," I sigh, "And I'm worried. If they attack camp I'll have no idea if he's ok."

"And he has no idea if your ok."

"Thanks , that makes me feel so much better."

"Sorry, sorry, I'm just saying you two are probably obsessively worried about each other right now."

"So Mr. Loyalty is my fatal flaw, you worry about Annabeth even when she's five feet away."

"I worry about you too."

I sit for a second. I guess I never really stopped to think Percy might obsessively worry about me.

"Why?" I ask.

"Because you put yourself in this little bubble. And don't talk to anyone. Especially right now. You've spent the past week worrying about me, Annie, Nico, and especially Travis."

"That is not true!" I say. It was totally true, "Also you worry about me worrying?"

"Mhmmmm," Percy says, "I mean if you shit yourself out for everyone your basically useless to the group. Your an amazing demigod. You guiding the group to the house of hades just proves it. You were a leader! But I bet your even better when you stop worrying."

I hate that he has a point.

"And Perc," I say. I'd been avoiding this conversation, "you should talk to Leo about calypso. I'm not sure he loves that you and her... well you know. Help him with whatever ridiculous plan he has, ok?"

"If he'll even talk to me," says Percy.

"He will," I say.

We sit in silence for a few minutes.

"Do you think mom is worried?" I ask.

"Of course she is. She's always worried, but she has Paul. She'll be ok," Percy says.

"I hope. I told her we were going to get you, but I may have left out the quest afterwards part. We just finished a war, I didn't want her freaking out."

"You mean like she'll probably be freaking out that you didn't come back? For all she knows you died at the Roman camp."

"I assumed she'd talk to chiron and he'd tell her the truth so I didn't have to," I say.

"Smart," Percy agrees.

Another few minutes of silence. It wasn't that late but there was nothing to do.

"Are you worried about Annabeth going without you?" I ask.

I saw his expression when it was mentioned that it would just be her and Piper.

"Yes," he sighs, "the last time she did a quest alone she was almost killed by a giant spider. And after Tartarus I don't want her going anywhere alone."

"You have to trust her. Dangerous situations is part of the job description. She's one of the most capable demigods I know, and with Piper there with her nothing'll happen," I say.

"Thanks Pheebs," he says. He didn't sound to convinced though.

"We should go to bed before we get into anymore topics. So far this conversation has been a bummer," I say.

"Agreed," Percy says, "night pheebs."

"Night Perc," I say turning out the lights.
