DS Nightberry - The Right Place

Night POV:

I left for a walk. Mostly to try and find something to do. I was bored. Kevin had decided to come along. He would peck at things, but when he notices I'm still going he'll catch up. I yawned. Dream was still out looking for me and my friends like normal. We haven't even done anything in a while!

I yawned again. 'Goodness, how tired am I?' I noticed a little area near a tree surrounded by a few bushes. 'That'll work.' I climbed in and Kevin followed. I sat down and made myself comfy on the ground. Kevin came over and stared at me.

"If anyone comes over, either wake me up or hide." I told him while yawning again. I curled up and closed my eyes. I felt myself fade out in seconds.

Blue POV:

I was walking along a path in the forest. Dream wanted us to find Nightmare. Again. Half the time I don't go. But today I decided, why not? I whistled as I walked. I wasn't really looking to be honest. If I saw one of them, I could easily tie them up with my strings.

Then I heard a chicken. I shrugged it off and kept walking. But then it happened again. I turned saw a chicken standing beside me.

"You like my whistling?" I asked it.

Then it hit me. This wasn't a random chicken, this was the Meme Squad's weird pet. Kevin. I recognized a little scar the chicken had. I quickly picked him up.

"They never let you run off alone. Who's with you?" I asked him. Then as if he realized something, he began clucking and clawing his way down. I dropped him and he ran towards a bush. "Heh."

I followed him and looked in the bush. I found Nightmare passed out on the ground. He looked really peaceful. Kevin nudged his arm and he rolled over. I pulled the chicken back and he began screeching again. I quickly wrapped its beak shut with my strings as Nightmare stirred. I quickly wrapped his wrists up, which jolted him awake.

"H-hey!"

"Come on. Dream will actually be happy with me for once if I bring you." I told him. I pulled him out of the bush.

"Can you at least leave Kevin?" Nightmare asked.

"Fine."

Nightmare stayed silent as we walked.

"Okay, why aren't you fighting this?" I asked the Negative Guardian.

"It's not like I can escape. And I'm still quite tired."

"Then let's take a break." Nightmare looked at me confused. I shrugged.

I led him to a clearing and sat down near a pond with him beside me. I was about to ask Nightmare but I felt him fall onto my shoulder, asleep. I smiled at him, he was so cute. I blushed a little as he snuggled into my shoulder a bit. 'I should bring him back, but I won't. He's...he doesn't deserve that. What did he do wrong? He's too cute for that fate.' I undid his wrist restraints. I kissed his head.

Nightmare POV:

I woke up to the sound of Kevin clucking. 'Was it a dream?' I noticed Blue petting the chicken, who was happy. I pulled my wrists apart and stretched.

"Morning." Blue said.

I opened my arms and Kevin came and sat in my lap, still wanting attention from Blue too.

"You've got a needy chicken, jeez." Blue commented. I chuckled.

"Blame Cross. He always spoils him." I heard Blue laugh. Then he sighed.

"I won't turn you in." I looked at him with surprise, picking my head up off his shoulder. "You're too cute. I just can't." I laid my head back down on his shoulder. "I can protect you if you want. I don't think I actually work for Dream."

"Yeah. Sure." I wasn't really paying attention. I was comfortable. "Can we just stay like this for a while?"

"Of course." He kissed my head again. I smiled. I'd always considered Blue to be evil.

I guess he just never found the right place, until now.
