Ari Kurosaki POV

Squad 1 barracks - assembly hall - Captain meeting

we're all gathered for another captains meeting.
And before the head Captain could start, Captain Amagai was quick to mention his plan, cutting him off in the process.

"Permission to speak sir".

It felt silent among us in the dimly lit hall and Captain Amagai took a step forwards and formally bowed to the head Captain.

Toshiro shifted his stern gaze to me and I returned the gesture not liking this.

"Well what is it Amagai?" The head Captain bluntly states

"I realized that I'm the newest member of the captains council and I'm speaking out of term. But I'd like to share an opinion." Captain Amagai formally bows again to the head Captain.

"Very well speak!"

Captain Amagai lifts his head up from his bow and continues. "Sir! The incident in question occurred just after I was appointed captain of squad 3. When we battled the menos in the precipice world, I requested that the department of research and development shut down the restrictive current, but it was reactivated while we were inside. My squad could have been wiped out by that current. Luckily they made it out."

"What is the meaning of this outburst?" Captain Kurotsuchi snaps cutting off Captain Amagai.

"What!" Captain Amagai turns his attention to Kurotsuchi.

"If you're here to whine! You came to the wrong place. This council has neither the time nor the inclination to listen to every squad's petty little complaints." Captain Kurostuchi explains harshly.

And sadly I agree with him for once. If he can't handle the challenges of the tasks given, is he really fit to be a captain?

"I know. As a matter of fact, that's what I want to discuss." Captain Amagai tries to reason.

"Is it?" Captain Kurostuchi says in distaste.

Captain Amagai takes his attention away from Kurostuchi and looks at everyone. "The thirteen court guard squads are comprised of independent units, each with their own unique skill set. I understand that."

"So why now all of sudden? After centuries of working separately. Why now do you think it would help the thirteen court guard squads." I sternly question cutting him off.

Captain Amagai and everyone else held surprise in their eyes that I of all the captains have something to say I normally have nothing to say in these meetings.

"Captain Kurosaki look at it from an organizational standpoint, there's no cooperation between us, no strength in unity. This precipice world blunder perfectly illustrates the thirteen court guard squad's most basic weakness."

"Like I stated earlier the thirteen court guard squads work separately, all our strength comes from sticking to our very own skill sets. As an example. Would you ask a squad 4 seated officer to be placed up front in battle without knowing any swordsmanship training." I firmly stated.

"Ahhh!! We-well!!" Captain Amagai stumbled over his words.

"The reason why we all work so perfectly is because of the unity each squad holds." I passionately explain, hoping that some others agree.

"Captain Kurosaki, I understand your passion for the thirteen court guards, but just like that example, maybe that's what could help." He tried to reason.

Luckily Captain Kenpachi was quick to my defensive. "What do you suggest, that all of us hold hands and get friendly around a campfire?"

"No, I wouldn't go that far, but I do think we should at least conduct joint training." Captain Amagai calmly suggested.
