I was over at my best friend Joey's house playing video games, nothing unusual.

Joey had his arm around my shoulders as my head was rested on his chest. We acted like a couple even though we weren't, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want us to be together.

Before we started a new round of the game, Joey got an idea.

"Brianna, why don't we make this game a little more interesting?" He asks me.

"How so?" I curiously question.

He looks at me with a mischievous glimmer in his eyes, "If I win, I get to take you out on a date."

My heart skips a beat, but I keep my cool, "And if I win?"

"If you win," he continues, "I'll do anything you say for the next 48 hours."

Sounds like a win-win to me.

"Deal," I firmly shake his hand to seal the agreement.

"Alright then," he smiles.

We get into the game, playing as intensely as we possibly can to get the highest score.

It's so close, I can win this. Just a few more points.

"I won!" Joey jumps up out of his seat and starts cheering.

I slump down in defeat.

He walks over to me, "Awe don't be sad, Brianna. We've got a date to attend."

I raise one eyebrow in confusion, "Right now?"

"Yes, right now. Let's go."

"Fine. A deal's a deal."

With that he interlocks our fingers and takes me to our first date.

This was the start of a new chapter in our life, where we would be more than friends, we would be in love.
