There's something sweet,

And almost kind,

But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined,

You had met Sherlock Holmes at a crime scene. It wasn't one of your favorite days in the world. You had gotten to the scene late that day and when you arrived Sherlock was already there. He was rambling on about the dead person and you crossed your arms, looking at Lestrade. Sherlock was deducing the body while you stood there watching and listening. Once he had finished Sherlock turned around and finally noticed you. He looked you up and down as you did the same.

"Y/n y/l/n meet Sherlock Holmes." Lestrade spoke up.

Neither of you said a word. You just stared at each other. Sherlock's friend cleared his throat causing each of you to look at him. When Sherlock turned back to you, you held out your hand.

"It's nice to meet someone like me." You said faking a smile.

"I wish I could say the same." Sherlock said not shaking your hand.

He turned on his heel and walked away. You always had a wall up to hide your emotions but something about Sherlock almost broke them. You looked down and then turned to Lestrade.

"I guess I'm not needed, then?" You asked.

"Sherlock gave us what we-" Greg started.

"Alright." You said and walked away.

From that moment on you knew one thing for certain. Sherlock Holmes was the cruelest person you'd ever met and you hated him.

And now he's dear,

And so unsure,

I wonder why I didn't see it there before.

Every time you saw Sherlock you would avoid him. He always seemed to find a way to damage your wall and you were afraid that it would crumble causing you to break. You couldn't let that happen. But one day, you couldn't avoid him.
Lestrade assigned you and Sherlock on the same case to do in the worst way possible!  Together!!  You sighed as you arrived at Baker Street. You climbed out of he cab and walked up to the door. You knocked twice and the landlady opened the door.

"Oh!  Hello!"  She greeted you.

"I'm here to see Sherlock."  You said.

The landlady smiled and nodded. She pointed up they stairs and I followed where she'd pointed. I opened Sherlock's flat door and walked in. You didn't see him so you set your things down and took your coat off. You heard a noise from the kitchen and curiously made your way there. You stepped in and saw Sherlock rushing around the kitchen. He never even noticed that you were there he was so caught up in what he was doing. You walked closer to him and smiled when you saw what he was doing.

She glanced this way,

I thought I saw,

And when we touched she didn't shudder at my paw.

No, it can't be, I'll just ignore,
