You had gotten back to your flat and immediately texted Sherlock. You asked him if he knew where that lady, whom you'd found out her name was Vivian, lived and he asked you why you needed to know. You told him that Greg let you help with the search for her and that you needed her address. He then questioned why they didn't give you the address and you said that they told you they'd already looked there so it was pointless. There was a pause before he replied and you knew that if you were talking in person he'd be eyeing you suspiciously. He then responded and you had the address.  Wigmore Street. You smiled, texted Sherlock a quick thank you, and then left. You got in a cab and told him where to go.
When you arrived you paid the cabbie and looked at the buildings. There were at least three different flat buildings so you walked in to each of them asking if a Vivian lived in one of the flats. Once you found the right one you walked upstairs and into her flat. It was dark besides the little bit of light that shone through the windows. There was some dust swirling around but you waved that away. You then heard a creaking noise coming from one of the bedrooms and you whipped out the gun you had with you. You slowly made your way through the kitchen and to the bedroom. You pushed the door open and there she was. The woman responsible for your sister's death.

~Sherlock's POV~

Y/n had asked me for Vivian's address and I immediately knew that something was wrong. I texted back asking why and she told me that someone named Greg let her help search for Vivian. Confused, I asked who Greg was and she told me it was DI Lestrade. I then asked why they didn't give her the address and she explained that they said they'd already checked and there wasn't any need to look again. I paused, by now I knew that she was lying but I gave her the address anyway. She sent a thank you and I then called Lestrade. He answered after the second ring.

"Hello?"  He called.

"Gavin.  It's me. I think y/n is going to kill Vivian if she finds her."  I said.

"How do you know that?"  George asked unbelievingly.

"Because!  She asked me for her address.  She's going to kill her Geoff."  I said.

"Well did you give her the address?"  He questioned.

"Uh, well...I, umm..."

"Sherlock."  Lestrade said firmly.

"Alright, yes!  I did.  But we have to find her and stop her!"  I said.

Graham let out a frustrated sigh, "Okay. We'll meet at Wigmore Street."  He said.

"Alright."  I said and hung up.

I looked around the flat knowing what might help stop y/n from killing Vivian. I searched my flat before I realized that what I was looking for was inside the box of Mary's things. I pulled out the envelope and slipped it in the pocket of my coat. I walked down the stairs and hailed a cab.

~Your POV~

You stood there, holding your gun steady. It was aimed straight at her chest ready to fire.

"What are you waiting for Miss Morstan?  Kill me."  Vivian said, almost as if she was challenging you.

You were all set and ready to send the bullet flying but something was holding you back. You knew that if you killed her, you would have your revenge but you just couldn't seem to pull the trigger. Tears started to fall down your face.

"Why did you kill her?"  You asked.

"Well I was trying to kill that detective but your sister jumped in front."  She said. "She could have survived if she had just let the bullet hit Sherlock Holmes."  She said.

Now you were getting closer to pulling that trigger. You cocked the gun and your pointer finger hovered over the trigger. You were just about to pull it when you heard a familiar voice.

"Y/n!"  Sherlock shouted and footsteps pounded up the stairs.

He then came into the flat and saw you aiming at Vivian. Greg then came up next to him.

"Y/n, don't do this."  Sherlock said holding his hand out.

"No, I have to."  You said, through the tears that dripped down your face.

"No you don't, y/n."  Greg said stepping in.

"Mary wouldn't have wanted you to do this."  Sherlock said.

You remained silent and looked back at Vivian. She was just standing there.  She didn't care that you were about to kill her. She was just waiting for the bullet to end her life.

"Y/n, Mary left something for you. At least look at it before you do this. And if you still want to kill her afterwards, then I don't think anything can stop you."  Sherlock said.

You turned your head and saw an envelope in his hand. Your name was written neatly on the front of it in cursive. You lowered the gun and walked over to him. You set the gun down and opened the envelope. Inside was a letter and something else. You pulled out the other paper in the envelope and flipped it over. You covered your mouth as you began to sob. There, in your hand, was a picture of you and Mary sitting on the swing seat in your backyard as kids. Your shaking hand then reached in and pulled out the letter.

Dear y/n,

This letter is for you to read when I'm gone. Most likely I died from a bullet shot by my enemies but I hope that it is by natural cause. But if it happens to be that someone killed me then I know what you'll do and I don't want you to do it. The person you are, y/n, is the one that will do anything for her family. But anything sometimes means revenge and that isn't something that you want to do. It's not what I want you to do.
Y/n no matter what happens to me, I want you to promise me one thing. Forget what happened to me and move on. If I've been killed, let it go. I don't need you to seek revenge for me. You are a wonderful person. Don't ruin that by killing someone. Be strong and live each day of your life to the fullest. But no matter what, don't ever forget me. I love you, y/n.

-Mary

You dropped to your knees as your tears flowed. Your body shook as the sobs racked your body. You dropped the letter and it floated to the ground.

"Y/n?"  You heard Greg say.

You stood up and wrapped your arms around him. He rubbed your back comfortingly and you continued to cry.

"I'm sorry. I'm so...so, so sorry."  You whispered.

"Shh.  It's okay."  He soothed.

"No it's not."  You sobbed.

"No.  But it is what it is."  Sherlock said from beside you.

You sniffled and looked back at Vivian. You sighed and took a deep breath, mustering up the courage to say these words.

"I forgive you."  You said. "But you're still going to jail."  You added.

Greg walked over to Vivian and cuffed her hands. He led her out of the flat and you picked up the letter and picture. You looked up at Sherlock and smiled.

"Thank you."  You whispered.

"You're welcome."  He said smiling back.

You all left Wigmore Street and started to live your life again. You felt like you could hear the happy tune of the birds and see the goodness in everything. But through it all, you never forgot your older sister, Mary Elizabeth Watson.
