Ethan and you weren't even that close but your other friends were so they always tried to set you two up.

"Oh come on y/n," your best friend said.

"I would never date him," you say.

"Why not? Like imagine my two best friends dating." she squeals.

"Nope, not going to happen. Besides, I barely talk to him"

"Why not try" she smirks.

"Eh"

Your friend rolls her eyes as you two continue to walk to class.

You both take a seat next to one another when both Ethan and Grayson walk in.

"Hey," he says to both of us.

"Hey" you respond back.

Your friend looks at you with a devilish smirk and begins a conversation.

"This sweater is so weird," she says.

"You have it in backward stupid," you tell her slightly chuckling.

"Yeah, you do," Ethan says

"No its not you guys. I bought it like this" she responds.

"Yes, it is."

"No, it's not y/n. Don't you think I would have noticed"

"I'm telling its backward. The girl just listen"

While I and she are arguing whose right Ethan sits there laughing his ass off.

"Ethan please help me," you say turning to him.

"Look the tag is right here," he says pointing at the clothing tag on the right of the sweater.

"I do have it backward," she says in a surprised tone.

"You're just too stubborn to listen" you chuckle.

"I know right," Ethan says looking over at you.

"YESSS," you say as you look up at him.

Both of you laugh at your friend and never break eye contact.

God, he has a pretty smile. You think.

Your friend's plan was set in motion as she now created a spark.

A month later...

Your feelings for Ethan had developed as you began talking to him a bit more and shared more classes together.

It's funny how at first you never thought you and him could happen, but now considering it a possibility is mesmerizing.

You and your friend walk along the hallway when you see him talking to the new girl.

"He's with her again" your friend complains.

"Who is she," you ask.

"Its this new transfer and ever since she got here, Ethan has been very close to her," she says clearly annoyed.

A part of you feels a sting of pain as you see them near one another.

You had your chance and now its too late.
