Hi! I'm Dennis and I am from Singapore 🇸🇬 and THIS IS MY STORY.
While I was growing up, everyone thought I had a happy childhood. I had the looks, the body, the personality, talent, voice, grades. They thought I was perfect. But what they didn't know was that, during all the school breaks I had, I was bullied. For my name.
Just because my name sounds and looks similar to a sexual word. I was kicked, hit by seniors during the breaks. I told my teachers, counselors and friends about the matter, they didn't care and said I was lying and told them a great story. As time passed, I learned how to show everyone I was happy when deep down I was suffering from a mental illness.
That happened from when I was 7-10. That was till i overheard a student from my school playing BTS-love myself song out loud in the girls toilet. I was lucky to hear the chorus "you've shown me I have reasons, I should love myself" I was probably having a bad day as well as I didn't make it to the top 10 best grades in our school.
There, I broke down in front of those kind seniors who helped me convince the teachers and counselors that I wasn't lying. They recommended me to listen to a couple of BTS songs from there.
As I read the translations, I got to know their stories. I slowly healed from within as U continue on with their journey as a proud BTS ARMY.
