Monday, June 18th (Manhattan, NY) (Bella's Perspective)
"Okay, so prom's Friday! I'm picking up your dress today...how are we doing this??" Mom asked as she ushered for me to sit down next to her.
"What do you mean?!" I asked with a nervous laugh.
"Do you know how you want your hair done?! Could I do it?! Just like I used to when you were younger for your competitions and recitals." Aww, she looks so happy.
"Sureee, but I don't exactly know what I want to do with my hair."
"We could look at something together, later if you'd like."
"I'd love to."
"Also, it's being held in Long Island, not too far away from us, so us adults thought that your friends could come over and then leave from our house. Some could even get ready there too."
"Really?! That's amazing! Is Uncle Dominic still coming to take pictures?"
"Of course! And...Aunt Elena's coming to help a bit too."
"Thanks for arranging all of this stuff, Mommy. You're the best."
"I know that I am, thanks for telling me though."
"You're so annoying!"

Home (6:25 PM) (Elliot's Perspective)
"Nu-uh! What are you talking about?! That was you!" Bella went into the kitchen.
"No, it was not! That was you!"
"Huh?"
"Not you, Elliot! I'm talking to Jake!" Noah laughed.
"What's so funny?"
"Nothing."
"Ever since she came back after hanging out with him they've been on the phone 24/7, it's ridiculous. It's like you could barely talk to Bella. She's just on the phone...constantly. She doesn't even call Hannah this much." I muttered.
"It's because they L-O-V-E each other." Leia whispered.
"She doesn't love him. She likes him. That's all. Hey, aren't you on the phone with Morgan all night?" I asked Noah.
"Yeah, but we're in a relationship. Leia let's go walk the dogs!"
"Okay, I gotta put on my crocs! Wait!"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"I don't know. That's up to you. Interpret it how you want."

My Bedroom (Tuesday, June 19th) (1:15 PM) (Jake's Perspective)
Today everyone got let out of school early because of staff meetings. Bella and I decided that we'd hang out at my house for a couple of hours, watch some movies, play games. Simple things make Bella happy, which is fine by both me and my wallet.
"Let's play Natural Disaster."
"Oh yeah, we haven't played that in forever."
"Also, quick question. Did you tell your parents that I'm coming?"
"No, did you tell yours that you're coming here?"
"Of course not. I just wanted you to know that I'm an expert at fitting into small spaces. So, if you need to hide me I won't be whiny about it."
"Hm, fair." She laughed and grabbed her computer.
"Hey, what's that on your closet?"
"My suit for Friday."
"Ooo, can I see?"
"No, and why would I?! You didn't let me see your dress."
"You're so boring."
"Just like you said to me, you're gonna have to wait until Friday."
"Hmph. All I know is the color of your tie. That's not enough info."
"Now you're whining and pouting."
"No, I'm not."
"You are."
"Am not. You're immature. Stop picking fights with me."
"Last time I check I'm not the one whining like a puppy." She smacked me across the face with one of my pillows. I proceeded to hit her back.
"Is that all you've got?"
"Hey, they say it's not nice to be rough with girls. I don't need your Dad coming after me for leaving you with a bruise."
"You can hit me, I don't mind."
"No, Bella-"
"Come on, I can take a few hits. I grew up with an older brother."
"Bella-"
"I'm giving you permission. I said it's fine Jake." I hit her again with the pillow. I paused to see her reaction. Her eyes were watering.
"I'm sorry, Bella. I didn't mean to hit you so hard. Wait-" I held her softly and she began laughing.
"You really fell for that?"
"What the hell." She wouldn't stop laughing.
"You're messed up."
"There's a reason why our drama teacher always wants me in the school play! Hey, don't be mad. I was just kidding."
"I'm not, but you had me scared." She smiled.
"Don't be."

Bella's Bedroom (505 East 74th Street) (4:45 PM) (Leia's Perspective)
Where is Bella? She's taking so long to come home today! She was supposed to be home at 1 o'clock but it's almost 5 PM! That's a no-no! I heard the front door open and I looked downstairs.
"Bella??" I heard Lucy say.
"Yeah?"
"Where have you been, young lady?!! You were supposed to come home hours ago!"
"I'm sorry-"
"Sorry is what you say when you're fifteen, thirty minutes late, not when you're nearly 5 hours late. That does not cut it." Lucy sighed.
"Where have you been?" She asked again.
"The park."
"The park, for four hours?!"
"Uhhh, yeah? Is something wrong with that?"
"Excuse me, who are you giving an attitude, young lady?" Lucy asked her.
"You asked me a stupid question and I answered it. What more do you want me to do?"
"Bella stop giving me an attitude, I'm giving you one chance to apologize and correct your behavior because you're not going to like what I do next."
"Woahh, so scary!"
"That's it, what has gotten into you? You're constantly giving me an attitude, always on your phone not wanting to be bothered, is something going on that you're not telling me about?"
"No, Lucy."
"You know how I feel about lying."
"But, I'm not!"
"You don't fool me, Bella. Let's see what your parents have to say about this." Bella stomped off and came inside.
"What are you doing in my room?!"
"I was just waiting for you to come home, why you gotta yell at me?! Geez." I asked her.
"And why are you being so mean to Lucy?" She didn't answer me. I looked around her room and I saw something shimmering.
"Bella, what's this?"
"My prom dress."
"Can I see?" She sighed and took it down.
"Woah, it looks like a princess dress. I can't wait until I'm big so I could have a dress like this. You're gonna look so pretty in it."
"Thanks, Lei."

Bonchon (736 Lexington Ave.) (Wednesday) (Bella's Perspective)
"You're so damn greedy, don't eat all of the soy garlic." My friends and I decided to go to Bonchon to get some wings because gym class left us starving, lemme tell you.
"There's enough for everyone."
"So guys, who are all going to Bella's house on Friday?"
"Me of course, I think it'd be so fun for us to all get ready and take pictures together." Hannah said.
"Are any of the boys coming?" Sapphire asked.
"When we're getting ready to leave of course."
"My mom said that there's going to be some surprise for all of us. Watch it be totally cringe."
"Our parents' idea of a surprise probably includes something without technology."
"Because we spend too much time on our phones."
"Hey, but who knows, it might be decent this time around. So let's not jinx it or something."
"True."
"Ooo, guys! My Mom just picked up my dress. Remember, I had to take it to get altered or whatever."
"Really?? Can I see?" Leah asked Paisley.
"No, you'll see it on Friday."
"Seriously?"
"I want it to be a secret."
"You're saying that like you're not getting ready at Bella's house. We're going to be the first ones to see it, Pais." Hilary said.
"True, but I'm still waiting."
"You're so boring! Bella, let me see your dress!"
"I don't have any pictures of it. Gonna have to wait until Friday boo!"
"You guys all suck!"
"Well, what about your dress?"
"It's at home. It's super pretty! But since you're not showing me, I won't show you guys." Leah ate some kimchi and smiled.
"Fine by us!"
"I just thought of something really cute!"
"What?"
"Why don't we have a sleepover after prom?!" Sapphire suggested.
"At whose house?" I asked.
"Yours, bestie! Your house in South-whatever is closest to the prom location, and you have a really cool basement."
"Yeah, our vacation home does not have arcade games."
"You have to thank my stepfather for that. He's the one that bought them. Then why don't we have a sleepover so we can properly thank him for that."
"I'll ask my Mom. I'm sure she'd say yes. Oh, speaking of prom...I have to tell you guys something?"
"Yeah?" They all stared at me as I found a way to formulate my sentence.
"I asked Jake out, and he said yes." Their eyes widened.
"Ooo, Bella! Girl-"
"Finally! You're the only one here who hasn't been in a relationship! It was about time! Tell us the story!" And so, I told them. It feels so much more real! So much more dreamier.

Mount Sinai Adolescent Center
"Thank you so much for everything you've done for me." I gave Dr. Johansson flowers and a card.
"Aww, Bella you didn't have to."
"I did. You've helped me so much. I wish you the best in Vermont." I told her. I was really sad that she was moving.
"Thank you, sweetheart! Promise me that you'll keep in touch!"
"I will!"
"Ah wait, I've been meaning to tell you this for a while but it's been slipping my mind."
"What is it?"
"I know you've been a bit curious about who your new therapist may be, and I have an answer for you." Though I've had several therapists, I was still a bit nervous because it's a new person and I don't just share out my business like that with just anyone.
"I told your mother that it'd be a good idea to transfer you to one of my closest friend's practice. They specialize in teen therapy, and are amazing at it."
"Really?"
"Mhm, she's able to speak 'teen' better than I do so that's something." I laughed.
"She's very good at what she does, and I will be checking in from time to time."
"That's it, that's all the info?"
"Yes, because I want you to go into your first appointment with somewhat of an open mind. But at the same time, I want you to feel safe and know that I have your best interest in heart, okay?"
"Got it." I hugged her.

Betsey's Botanical Boutique (Thursday) (7:15 PM) (Olivia's Perspective)
"Are you buying more flowers for the dining table?" Bella asked me while adjusting her backpack.
"No, you'll see why I brought you here in a second." She eyed me suspiciously. We walked up to the front and were greeted by Betsey.
"Olivia, I haven't seen you in a while! Why is that?!"
"Look, my hours are crazy!" We hugged and laughed.
"Hi, Aunt Betsey!" Bella gave her a warm hug.
"When did you get so big? I could've sworn you were seven yesterday." She laughed.
"How are you?? How is school going?"
"I'm good, and school's good too! I'm almost done with it. My graduation's on Tuesday."
"High school graduation?!" Betsey joked.
"No, middle school! I'm only 13."
"And a 1/2."
"Mom." I put my hands up in surrender.
"Hmm, well then I think I know why you're here. Come on back." We went behind the counter to a world of flowers. Orchids, lilies, carnations, poppies. They were beautiful.
"So, who's the lucky guy? For prom of course." Bella blushed.
"Jake, he's been my friend since like 6th grade."
"And crush, too."
"You're being embarrassing, Mom."
"Sorry I just can't help it." Betsey and I chuckled.
"Well, he's going to need a fabulous boutonnière, isn't he?" Betsey took a box from a shelf and opened it.
"It looks so beautiful!" Bella squealed.
"Can I touch it?"
"Of course, sweetie."
"It matches the color of my dress so well! Thank you, Aunt Betsey."
"Anytime, sweetheart! I'll come by to drop it off tomorrow, okay?"
"Okay!" We then told Betsey goodbye and left the store.
"You hungry?" She nodded.

Herman's Grill (987 East 78th Street)
"Nothing beats a good burger, and in your case a chicken sandwich." Bella giggled.
"I remember used to come here quite a bit after Noah's games, or if we were good or something. Remember, Mom?""Oh my word, Noah you have Mayo all over your face!" I wiped his face and my two kiddos couldn't stop laughing.
"He's the Mayo man!" Bella said.
"With the power of mayo! I just squirt it everywhere." They're so stinking cute!"I do remember. You guys were so little. Lucy used to bring you guys too sometimes, she'd send pictures."
"And have us do poses." I nodded.
"You know, I find it funny."
"What?"
"You're being so good with me, but with Lucy and Elliot it's a different story." She stopped eating.
"Bella, look at me."
"Bella?"
"Yes, Mom?"
"Is something the matter? Are you upset with Lucy and Dad?"
"No, it's not like that."
"Then what is it like? Lucy told me that you came home four hours late young lady, which is unacceptable, and that after that you had the nerve to give her an attitude when she asked you where you were. You're not getting off scot-free with this behavior, Bella Danielle."
"I can't believe you took me out just to yell at me."
"And I can't believe that you think this type of behavior is okay. I can't believe that the only way that I can get your attention is by doing this. You're ruining your relationships with the people who love you most, Bella. Whatever it is, you can talk to us about it. You can talk to me about it."
"No." She said coldly.

This Strange Place I Call Home (10:55 PM) (Bella's Perspective)
Although my evening sort of ended on a sour note, I was happy and excited tomorrow. Tomorrow was prom after all. I wonder what tomorrow will be like.Noah told me that his prom was fun. They danced for hours and did a bunch of stupid things. I saw it all on his Snapchat the morning after. Also, he and his friends got to ride in a limo which is totally unfair. It's only middle school prom. I began imaging scenarios.
"Prom queen and king goes to...Bella and Jake." I'd have my moment! I'd be in my beautiful dress, smiling, waving like the queen I am. And, I'd have my king by my side. Jake. He'd look into my eyes and smile, but not his regular smile, his eye smile (the one where his eyes turn into a sort of crescent shape because he's cheesing so hard), and people would cheer and roar and-
"Bella?" I can't even daydream in peace.
"Yes, Mom?"
"I just wanted to tell you goodnight." She sat on my bed and hugged me. I stayed stiff and Mom picked up on it.
"Okay, good night."
"Night." Neither of us said, "I love you".Dear Diary,
I really hope tomorrow is fun.
