December 15th (Bella's Perspective)
I woke up 3 minutes ago. My phone was flooded with texts, and my room flooded with balloons. I'm twelve today. It's a bit cool because I'm going to turn 13 next year. My last year as a "kid." I hopped into the shower, hopped out of the shower, or slid on a very casual outfit. Nothing over the top. It's a Saturday, and it was 11 AM.
"Happy birthday Bella bear."
"Aunt Amanda? Thank you!"
"You're very welcome!"
"Where's Mom?"
"She's getting ready."
"Oh right, it's a Saturday. Wait, then why aren't you working?!"
"Hey-"
"Bella, you're awake! Aww! Happy, happy birthday my love!"
"Thanks, Mom."
"Happy birthday to Bella!" Leia said.
"Where's Noah?"
"Out with El." Wonder what they're planning.
"Bella, what do you want to do today?"
"I wanna do ice skating. It's been years, and I want to talk to Aunty Amanda privately, I want to hang out with everyone. I want to go shopping as well."
"Let's do ice skating first Mama!"
"After breakfast Leia. We can't skate on an empty stomach."
"Mom's right."
"So Bella, do you want to hang out with friends later too?"
"I'd love to. Can Penelope, Jess, and Ky come over?"
"If they can sweetheart."

Bryant Park (Olivia's Perspective)
My daughter turned twelve today and she opted for a skate day and a sleepover with her friends.
"Stop! Are you trying to kill me?!"
"You're so dramatic, Bella!"
"Am not!" The girls skated ahead and giggled loudly.
"Mommy, this is so scary!"
"I know, but this should be fun baby!" Leia took baby steps as I guided her.
"See, Aunty Amanda and I got you. You're safe."
"Safe." She repeated.
"Amanda, how long have we been here?"
"An hour. I think we should head out in a bit."
"Yeah, I'm hungry Mommy. Let's get food."
"Girls, do you want lunch?!"
"Yeah!"
"Thanks, Mom!"
"You're very welcome. So, where are we going?" I asked as we got off the ice.
"Chick-Fil-A."
"I've been craving a milkshake!"
"Me too!" The girls started to giggle and talk again.
"Mommy, they are best buddies."
"They are sweetheart."
"Penelope, I barely see you. What the hey!"
"I know, and it's harder to recognize me after the highlights."
"I think they're really cool. You hang out with Val and Carls right?"
"Yeah, they're awesome. I know you guys are friends. We should hang out more. I've known you the longest and I see you the least. I'm sorry."
"It's okay, I don't mind."
"Bella, how do you do your edges, they look so cool."
"I just use a brush and some gel. I'll do yours later. Mom, before the sleepover can Aunty Amanda and I go out?"
"Of course. I don't mind." My daughter came to me and gave me a short, but sweet hug.
"Thanks, Mom, I love you!"

Forever 21 (Bella's Perspective)
"How school sweetheart?"
"It's good." I was out shopping with Amanda and we were just talking.
"I don't see you as much as I used too. You're getting so grown up. I'm surprised you wanted a little outing with me."
"I'll always wanna go out with you Auntie!" She chuckled as I looked through the racks.
"Is there something in particular that you wanted to talk to me about?"
"Yeah, I'm in a bit of a predicament."
"How, exactly?"
"I keep learning that all of these guys like me in my grade. It's super weird."
"Well, can you blame them?"
"No, but I've never had to put that much thought and care into who liked me."
"Is it because you like them too, or it's just a general worry."
"Mainly a general worry."
"Mainly? So something's there."
"There is. I don't like them all. I like one of them."
"The same boy?"
"Yeah, only him. He's the only boy that I like."
"And he's your first crush?"
"Yeah!" I blushed and took a top off the rack.
"You're still a bit young, but I'll just tell you to be kind to them all and don't allude anything if you know what I mean."
"So keep it neutral."
"Basically. When Liv lets you date, or you feel ready too with her permission, you can start slow."
"I'm not crazy like some people. I just, I don't know. I feel confused!"
"And that's okay Bella! Just, don't rush."
"I have you and Mom telling me that."
"It's the truth darling. No need to rush, boys can come in a few years, focus on keeping that 4.0 GPA high school is so soon."
"I wanna go to a public school."
"Why?"
"I want to go to Brooklyn Tech or Stuy."
"Well you're a very smart girl, you'd definitely get in. I think Liv likes having you in a private school though."
"I realized!" We both chuckled and paid for the clothes.
"Aunt Amanda?"
"Yes?"
"Can I tell you something? But promise not to tell Mom?"
"I won't tell her, I'm on your side."

The Sleepover
"Happy birthday!"
"Thanks, guys! Now, look at the stash!"
"We're not going to sleep tonight!"
"But we have to pretend. Mom's still gonna come in."
"She's right."
"Let's focus on that later!" Penelope said.
"Let's dye our hair! Bella has the wax!"
"What colors do you guys want to do?"
"Get them all!" So we were in my bathroom, all four of us, dying our hair.
"See, I'm going for a mermaid look."
"A mermaid look?!"
"Bella really thought she did something."
"I'm going to show Mom."
"She's going to freak." I went upstairs to my Mom and Elliot's room and smiled.
"I love that actually."
"It's still drying."
"Mommy, I want to try it."
"I'll do it for you in the morning Leia. I promise."
"I like my sister!"
"You look stunning Bella."
"Thanks, El! Hey, can we order some pizza?"
"I was thinking the same thing. What kind?"
"They all like chicken and plain. Either will do. Thank you!" I walked back down to my bathroom and they were playing one direction.
"Oh no, take it off."

December 16th (Fin's Perspective)
"Happy belated birthday Bella! I'm so sorry I couldn't see you yesterday."
"It's okay, I didn't mind."
"I had to make it up to you. Is there something, in particular, you'd like today?"
"Spend time with you mainly. It's been a while. How are you?" She smiled as we crossed the street to my apartment building and jumped over a puddle.
"I'm as fine as I could be."
"So you could be better?"
"I could be."
"I hope you can do better. How about, we order some food?"
"You don't wanna eat out?" I said as we entered my living room.
"That was an option?"
"Baby, we're doing whatever you want to do today." She smiled and then quietly looked down at the ground.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing, just thinking about homework."
"Why?"
"Because it reminds me of school. You know, sometimes I wish I wasn't such a good student."
"Why?"
"I think I have a problem with my anger sometimes."
"What makes you say that?"
"People always ask for help and it annoys me, I just want alone time. So I get mad sometimes."
"There's nothing wrong with that. We all get annoyed."
"I dunno." She stopped talking and touched her hair. Did I do something?
"Can we watch tv?"

Later That Night (Olivia's Perspective)
"How was it?"
"It was good Mama, can I go to my room please?"
"Of course." She carried the bags upstairs and then Fin stepped inside.
"How was it?"
"Well, it was okay. I wanted to ask you about something Bella told me."
"What is it?"
"Bella thinks she has anger issues. But, she wouldn't explain further."
"Was she upset?"
"Not really. But, she clearly didn't want to tell me."
"Wow. But, thanks Fin."
"Tell El I said hi."
