Bella is now in middle school and sassier than ever! She's determined to become a different and more mature person (much to Olivia's dismay). Read to see Bella navigate this stage of her life as she tackles boys, drama and the personal changes that...
Friday, October 6th (Elliot's Perspective) Bella was in the living room playing with Ace. It was just her and I because Olivia and Leia are having a girl's trip, and Noah is on an overnight trip with his school. "Bella, are you okay?" I sat down with her. Ace licked her hand and she petted him. "No." "What are you upset?" Ryan joined in and sat on my lap. "Because Mom really hurt my feelings." 30 Minutes Earlier..... "We're going to have so much fun, Lei! We're gonna stay up late and paint our nails and talk about whatever you want babe." Bella glared at Liv. "That should be cool, you guys are gonna have the best time. But Bella and I will have more fun. Isn't that right?" Bella pushed her way past Liv. "Bella, you mustn't be jealous like that. You were never jealous before, so why are you now?!" "I'm not jealous! Just leave me alone!" "You're being rude, cut it out." "No, I'm not. Look at Mom not even caring about my feelings once again. I hate that about you. You just don't care!"
"How?" "Because, for years now Mom has promised me that she'll take me on a girl's trip, and she keeps pushing it back and back. Then, she goes and does it with Leia. When she said it would be our thing." Bella cried and Ryan rushed to snuggle with her. "Really?" "Yeah. She said we'd do it first." "Bella, I understand how you feel, but sweetheart, you can't yell at me or your mother like that. That's just making it worse." "I said I'm sorry, I was just really angry." "The sorry you told your mother wasn't a genuine one." "I don't want to talk to her at the moment. And, I don't want to talk about her." "This conversation is not over. You need to call you Mother and tell her you're sorry. Right now." "But-" "Get the house phone and apologize." She called Liv and apologized politely. She then went into the basement and cried. "Bella, what do you want for dinner?" "El, not right now. I don't want to eat anything right now. I'm angry." ***************** Saturday Morning (Bella's Perspective) I went for a short bike ride on this pretty Saturday morning. It was really warm today, so I wanted to take advantage of it. I also had to make this quick. Elliot said we were doing something when we came back. I turned around the corner and started to head back home. "Bella?" I slowed down and looked behind me. Preston. "Hey, Pres." We fist-bumped and I looked at his bike. "I thought you needed beauty sleep, what are you doing biking this early?" It really isn't that early... It's 10 AM. "I needed to get out of the house for a bit, my stepdad was getting on my nerves." "Argument?" "Sort of." Preston has a step-mom. I figured he understood. His real Mom passed away a while back when he was a toddler. "Sucks, but it happens. How are you though?" "I'm okay. Nothing to be super happy about, nothing to be upset about." "How are things with you and Jake?" I laughed. "You were probably itching to ask from the moment you saw me." "Can you blame me?" "No, not at all. But, nothing's going on. We're just friendly." "Super friendly." "However you wanna put it. How are you and Alexis?" "Awesome. I told her she needs to sit with us more often, talk to you guys more." "Don't force her into it, we could be a bit intimidating." "There's nothing intimidating about us, besides we're gonna be hanging out a lot. I want her to be friends with you guys." He's really nice when he isn't annoying. "How about, I hang out with her some time? I'll invite the girls, and it can be a girl thing. That way, we can ease her in." "Cool." We started to bike towards my block. We talked more about school, our classes, trips. "I can't wait for the overnight trip. Camping in the woods." "You say that, but the moment you see a bear you'll be freaking out." "I'm not afraid of bears." "You're a horrible liar." We stopped in front of my house where Elliot was staring outside of the window. "He's really got an eye on you doesn't he?" "Yeah...they're both annoying like that... Text me! I gotta go!" "Totally! Bye, loser!" I waved and brought my bike inside to the ground floor of our brownstone, and then took off my shoes and walked to the living room, where Elliot was sitting, and eating popcorn. "How was your bike ride?" "I saw you spying on me." "I was just making sure you got here. You were gone for a while, I know why now. Come sit here." I sat next to him and he put his mug of coffee down. "How are you feeling this morning?" "Okay. Why'd you ask?" "Because I care. Olivia said she called you. Did you see it?" "No, my phone's in my room, and I haven't used it." "You need to speak to your Mom. She feels bad. Bella, that wasn't the way to go about it." I nodded. "I'm proud of you for admitting you're wrong, but now, you gotta let your Mom make up for how she hurt you. Because she does feel sorry, she does." "Okay, I get it. I get it." I whispered. "On an entirely different note, I'm going to go pick up your brother. Are you coming?" "No, I don't want to. I'm going to play with the dogs." Ace ran over to us. I've begun training Ace, and he's a really good boy. "Sit.." He sat and I gave him a treat. "Good boy, Ace!" "Alright, Bella. I want you to reflect. Have fun." "Bye!" ************* Sandy's Shake Shop (Olivia's Perspective) "And, after we ate lunch by the trees we went to go play by the little river! I got my clothes wet." "Really?" "Yeah, because Hayden splashed me!" Leia was telling me a story about school and she just looked so adorable. "Mommy, what are we gonna do?" "Well, we're going to go to the trampoline park, and we're going to get our nails done." "I can't wait for the foam pit. But, it smells kinda stinky. Like people's feet kind of stinky." "Leia!" I tickled her and she giggled. "You're not wrong though. Gosh, what would I do without you cutie?" She grabbed her shake and drank it. "Mommy, is Bella still angry?" "I'm not sure." "Mommy, why does she get mad at you like that?" "Because she's very mad." "Why?" "She wanted a girls trip too." "Then maybe, you should take her on one. She'd be happy with you again!" "I'll have to see. Finish up, missy. Times going." "Mommy, I love this girl's trip! I had a lot of fun with you! I wanna do it again sometime! Do you wanna?" "I'd love to." *********** Bella's Bedroom "Bella?" She was taking a nap on her bed and I sat down.

My sweet baby. Even though I was upset with her. I still loved her very much. Bella has always been a person that speaks her mind and is honest about the way she feels and why it's a good quality. But, not when she's being disrespectful about it. She twitched slightly and readjusted herself in her sleep. "Bella?" She opened her eyes. "What are you doing here? You're home early." "No, it's Sunday baby. Elliot told me you've been sleeping all day." "Yeah, I'm tired." Bella stopped making eye contact. "You hurt my feelings." "I know. I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you, that wasn't my intention in the slightest. I know I promised you that we'd have our first. I failed you, you have every reason to be disappointed. But, you can't act the way you did. It was disrespectful, and you did that in front of Leia. You have to be a better example, Bella." "Okay." I gave her a hug. "I'll make it up to you, I promise." "Don't break it this time." "I won't. I won't. Come downstairs with me, you need to eat something." "Breakfast." "More like a late lunch. Come on, I'll make you something." She smiled and we went downstairs together to make something to eat.
