Title: 6/6- The title shows what the book is all about. Well done.

Cover: 6/7- I really love the cover as the title of the book is clear and can be seen. I also love the cursive/elegant font for the title of the book. For the author name, however, I would advise the author to either exchange position with the title and let the title be in the centre and the author's name be below or enlarge the author's name and place it slightly above the tip of the pen in the background as it clearly shows the colour of the author's name clashes with the colour of the background at the top.

Blurb: 7/7- The blurb shows the plot of the book and what the book is about. Well done.

World and Settings: 10/10- The world and settings are written well and had shown that it is in the 1600. The description of the buildings and also the places also describes the main characters and all of the characters are in the 1600s well.

Plot and concept: 9/10- I really love the plot about the woman named Mary Ann writes a letter to her penpal and also about the things that had happened while she still haven't written her letter. I also that about her meeting the prince and the little budding romance there. The whole plot makes me second-guessing who is the penpal to Mary Ann and it is entertaining as well. It's just that because I may think that the plot may get out of hand in the subsequent chapters, I decided to place a nine out of ten mark but the story of the author is taking a good turn.

Characters: 10/10- What I really love about the story is the characters and their characteristics, appearance, attitudes and many more. The author really put his/her heart and soul into the characters making them unique and stand out in the plot for the whole story although it is still not finished.

Content and chapters: 9/10- I am really amazed about how the author was able to write the content of this story well even though it is about 22 chapters. For historical romance or any historical books, it is hard to write because the author must write out their characters living in that period and to refer and research more on the history of the era the characters live in. This causes a lot of problems for authors to really write a good historical genre type of novel but for this author, I think he/she really do well so far but it is hard to say because it is still not completed so that is the reason why I give nine out of ten marks for this area. Another thing to comment on is about the pacing of the story. So far I do not see any pacing problems for this story as the pacing is not too fast and not too slow but, I cannot confirm it will continue to be like this because it is hard to determine if the author can continue the pacing of the story or make a sudden change of the pacing and end the story faster than it is normally supposed to finish.

Writing Skills: 20/20- One of the most annoying things about novels is the point of view. Many authors tried to write the point of view of more than one person (like about three or more person's points of view) and the whole story gets more confusing as the story lets on. Many authors believe that many points of view will make the story more immersive and will make the story more interesting but it doesn't work that way because the more character views are shown in the book, the more confusing unless if the author can write it in a way that is not so confusing for the reader. When I read this book, the first thought that comes to my mind is that this story will have lots of POVs and it is going to be confusing but for this book, I am happy that it proves my perception wrong. There are no grammar mistakes (but if have then I may private message the author after this review) and the POV of this book is based on the main character Mary Ann on how she perceives the world and the environment around her and her penpal's POV, although it is not shown a lot of times but it can be seen in the letter that he/she sent to Mary Ann. So far for this story, it is a good start. Well done.

Style and Theme: 10/10- I really love the writing style of the author in writing this book. The POV as mentioned above is not too confusing and focus on Mary Ann and her penpal and another plus point, there is so much emotion written in this book that I couldn't help admire the author on how she/he did that for a historical romance. Well done.

Enjoyment and engagement: 10/10- I really enjoy reading this book and I reread it about two times and still feel the thrill of wanting to read it again and again. I also think that this book also let the readers reflect and relate on their own life experience in love and life although it is from a different perspective and different era. So well done.

Overall and Extra comments: 97/100- Overall, this story is really interesting and it is relatable although there are some parts that are not that good here and there based on my comments but overall, I would recommend this story to other readers as well. So, well done on this story and I can't wait to read the whole story once completed.

Thank you!

Have a nice day ahead!!
