Waves rushed against the shore. The sound of water crashing along the sandy borderline could be heard as he grunted a few times.

"Ugh!" Squinting his eyes, he tried to envision what was ahead of them but it was too dark. Night had fallen across the lands and it did not help that it was raining hard.

"Idiotic bat dragging me underwater!" He complained as he took another step. The water already reached below his waist but he was still struggling because of what was in his hands.

He was pulling the clothes of another man who was unconscious.

Tired and sleepy, he continued to travel across the waves and he even stumbled a few times when the force of the water overpowered him. He did not really care if the man he was holding was submerged beneath the waves because he knew the 'bat' would survive anyway even if drowned.

"Haah, I'm tired!" The droplets of rain that fell on his face did not help either as he, too, felt the overwhelming coldness of both the sea and the skies.

It had been quite some time now since they both dueled in who-knows-part of the endless sea and him being dragged underneath the ginormous waves by his lover. He thought Ciaran was just trying to be romantic with how he kissed him beneath the waters but the man soon lost consciousness too.

'Good thing I am his saint or else I wouldn't have been able to call his shadows!' Pier grumbled another thought in his mind.

His magic had been drained. Not totally but he was trying to avoid depleting it completely because he knew he would be in a bad state and probably sleep like a fairytale princess for months if his mana is consumed entirely. It was fortunate enough that he had been crazy enough to offer himself in becoming the vampire king's saint that he was able to call forth some of the man's shadows.

The monsters they caught in the endless sea when they dueled months ago aided them to get to the nearest shore so they can rest for the moment.

"Fluffy and Raegan left us too!" He could not stop the pout that came on his face.

He did not know that the fairy and the dragon prince thought they were fine and were just being romantic with each other that's why he felt a little bit hurt at the thought of being left behind.

"If I were not Ciaran's saint..." He dragged the man completely once the waters were now below his ankles.

"We would've been stuck in the middle of the endless sea for god knows how long!" He even turned to glare at the vampire king. His spine slightly shivered because the instant they fell into the waters, his slight thalassophobia increased. The darkness of the endless sea was overwhelming. He did not know what other monsters resided in there aside from the ones they both caught when fishing.

"We probably would've been eaten by a monster whale just like that one book I've read in my past life!" He complained. Pier was referring to the biblical story of a man who disobeyed the commands of a supposedly powerful entity and was swallowed by a whale and lived inside the whale's mouth for days.

When they were at the part of the shore where the waves no longer reached, Pier sat on the sand and inhaled deeply a few times.

Huff... Huff... He repeated. His heart was pounding loudly as pulling Ciaran's large body towards the shore was tiring enough.

Turning his head to glance once more at the vampire king, Pier gave a somber look on his face.

Ciaran's hair was disheveled. His clothes were wet but that was not what bothered Pier.

The black veins that were appearing on the man's face, neck, and probably his entire body under the clothes were alarming enough.

"Are you really that eager in having another child?" Pier asked him.
