Asra:
He stared at the river he was using to clean his sweat away with from his long travel. In the water were swirling images, images that never happened yet he wished so much they did. A happy childhood where his two parents were there. They weren't rich, got just by, but they had each other and were happy. He stared at the water but shooed the images away quick, not wanting to dwell on how life didn't turn out like he would have wanted it to and just appreciate it turned out well and he met some great people ont he way, especially his spouse.
Nadia:
She saw how life could have gone if she never married Lucio, though she was more freaked out by her glass of water suddenly holding such sorrowful images. She watched the images of being free of this place, not having had to endure Lucio's childish and cruel behaviour, having no grudge against her sisters. While all this sounded nice she put her glass away and dismissed it as she knew where she is now might be stressful but people need her and she wouldn't have met you if not for these circumstances. Of course the last one, with her sisters, that one she probably wished most was true as she thinks it would be nice to have a good relationship with them. It's not that she has a bad one with them, she just can't help but hold a few grudges, which she realizes might be childish and foolish of her but she can't help but. She is trying to improve on that though so the last one is one she can still change. She called a servant, politely informing she wishes for some tea now so if she could take this glass of water away she would appreciate it.
Julian:
He saw it in his beer, so he mistook it as being drunk and a sign to go home. But the next day, as he was drinking water for his hangover, he saw it again. Now he got worried, wondering if he hit his head on the way home and has brain damage. So you came home to see your husband leaning over medical books. When questioned what he's doing he offhandedly explained trying to see what hallucinations are connected to. He looked at you, asking if he looks any different to you, yellow or such, but you assured him as ghostly as usual. You watched him for a while as he tried to think if he has any symptoms and why he only hallucinations when looking at this glass of water. You were about to question something but he thrusted the glass to your face, asking if you see anything. You looked into it then shook your head, mumbling a nope, so he frowned then asked no visions of a past you would have liked. Now you just got concerned but answered no, causing him to get more confused. You asked him if this might be magically connected causing his mouth to go to an "o", as if connecting it and realizing, then happily said that's probably it. You asked him why he's happy now so he chuckled because that means there's nothing mentally wrong with him. Slowly a frown grew on his face and he mumbled at least not anything new wrong.
Muriel:
He got distracted as he was chopping a tree. The river nearby seemed odd, small waves rushing through it. He approached it, wondering if there is something dangerous about to happen; but in the wild waves came images. Each image got washed away by a new wave, which showed a new image. A woman and a man with a baby, a nice atmosphere as various people and a young him are eating together, him as a teenager having a farm job. These images showed a calm, carefree lifestyle with family and friends around. It was nice to see but he couldn't image it for himself, nor did he really feel or long for these images. They were too surreal for him, and he knew it was too late for that to happen.
He rushed back to the hut and asked you to come look so you followed, only to stare at the calm water then question why you had to come look at some water. He tried explaining it but it came out in unsure words and he wasn't making sense so he just mumbled it's nothing then told you to go back and he will come soon when he has this tree chopped down.
Portia:
She was cooking, only to stare at the pot filled with water on top of the fire. Magic always fascinated her and made her want to learn it, but she didn't like this kind. It showed her images of when she was a child, but different. Her parents were there, her brother was there, her aunt, and they were traveling on a ship. It was a very happy image that made her smile softly, having dreamed this at times. Of having had a normal childhood: of having parents, of her brother there to grow up aside her, of her aunt coming by for visits and being the fun aunt. But sadly it didn't go that way. Sometimes she thinks about asking you if there's a spell to turn back time and change it all, but she dismisses it as she wouldn't have this fun job, work for someone so thoughtful, have such an excellent spouse, and just a cozy cottage life. Arriving at this place in her life was hard and rough, and life is still so, but the people around her make it bareable and fun, so she wouldn't give that away.
Though if someone asked her if she picks that life the water is showing or her current one she will have trouble choosing, the only thing really having her pick the latter each time you, who she would never give up, but neither would she give up her family. So she always hopes there won't ever be a day when the Devil makes her choose between her family or you because that will be the hardest and most heartbreaking decision she will have to make.
She only snapped out her thoughts going darker when you suddenly pushed her away and pulled the pot off the fire as it was overflowing while you loudly called her name, asking what she's doing. She swallowed, her throat so dry, then shook her head and apologized, mumbling she just got lost in thoughts.
Lucio:
At first he stared at the pleasant visions in the water then threw the cup of water to the wall out of frustration and fear this was the Devil's doing, trying to pull him in again. He didn't want to see how nice his life could have gone, how if some cruel things in his past didn't happen his life would be better, be mocked by water if he didn't make his dumb decisions how nice it could be now. So he was now furious, while you sat there very confused, just having wanted to have a nice meal with your husband. So slowly you asked what that glass ever did anything wrong to him, trying to approach this in a light-joking manner, but he angrily replied he hates magic.
You spend a long time of the meal just listening to him now rambling about how he hates magic. How he used to like it, how it was so fascinating, but now it sucks and each time it comes up it's a sign something bad is about to happen. You were bored of his ramble but then felt sad as his finger began trembling as he wanted to slam it on the table to make his point but his movement slowed. He sucked his bottom lip between his lips, looking scared and nervous suddenly, then whispered it's a sign the Devil is coming to hurt either you or him. You were quick to hurry out your chair and aside him, pulling him into a hug and assuring him it's okay and you will kick the Devil's ass if he dares appear again.
Valerius:
Shit, he drank too much. He was shocked he even thought of getting some water. He simply took this as a sign to throw away the water and get more wine. How he made that connection remains a mystery to you, but he was happy to go get more wine.
Devil:
He usually makes them himself when he's bored. Just swirling his finger above liquid, watching forms appearing of ways his life could have turned out, or how yours could have gone. Watching how such tiny things, like simply misplacing something, can have such a big effect on one's life. When you ask what he is doing he will simply wipe it away with a wave of his hand above the liquid and claim it's nothing.
