Chapter 58: Time Tells

Your PoV

As Amy and I went downstairs to eat, I saw Gaeul, Lily, and Haewon who just got back after running some errands.

I made my way to the kitchen once they saw me and prepared the soup Nayeon gave me.

"Unnie, my playmates told me I have cool unnies but I don't have parents."

Y/N looked back at Amy who was now sitting at the counter and waiting while she transferred the food.

"They did tell you that? Well, how did you react?"

"I told them that it's okay because you take care of me plus I have uncle Sejun too."

Y/N smiled and faced Amy.

"That's right. Having no parents isn't a bad thing, right? Don't let them see a way to upset you."

Not so long Haewon walked in followed by the other girls.

"Woah, did you cook it?"

"No, Nayeon gave it. I went to the safe house and talked to them." I said.

"Y/N, I need to tell you something but maybe it'll wait until later," Lily said.

We all sat down as we watched Amy having fun with the some. She also gave me some which I didn't refuse.

"So, how are the royalties?" Gaeul asked.

"They're fine. I told them the plan and they agreed. Maybe in a few days, we can start."

"How about their friend? The one they thought was you?" Haewon asked.

"I told them I haven't seen her since we got here. I learned they call her a creator. Like the wanted, she can open a portal. If she's here, it will be hard for us to find her.  But I doubt their friend came here. I could have seen her in my vision."

"Speaking of, we're still looking for the wanted girl. We got some information based also on the royalties. Her name is Giselle. We still need to find her." Haewon said.

"I still can't believe that there's a whole world that's just like us," Kyujin said.

"But that's cool, right? Meaning we can get help from them." Leeseo said.

"Did you learn about this, Y/N?" Gaeul asked.

"Not really. I was surprised too that there's such a thing as that. But good thing they reached out to us."

After Amy finished her food, she told Y/N that she'll go out to play. Y/N let her so they could talk about important things.

"So, what are you again, lily?" Y/N asked.

"Right, Sejun has been missing since that day. No one saw him in his office. People especially the other members of the community started to ask where he was. Even the leader of the next village who we merged with."

"We need to find where he is."

"No, Y/N.  I think it's better if we'll find him while you work on the royalties to start the plan. We are large now, we can do two works at one time." Karina suggested.

"That's right. But our prime problem is Sejun being out of the picture. We need a leader to stand on because our people are still worried about the leader of the next village." Gaeul said.

"Right, we need someone trustworthy. At least the one who can protect our people."

"How about Jun?" I suggested.

"But...  You said he's hiding, right?" Lily asked.

"Well, not anymore. He needs to get out of his shell now. People need someone who can stand as a leader, Jun knows a lot when it comes to that."

"Can you convince him? Because a while ago, when I talked to him, I could still see that he was afraid for his life." Karina said.

"I'll ask him."

"Okay, let's hope for the best. After all, we are just a few steps away from victory. We got the royalties to help us."

I was staying outside the house as I watched Amy who was playing with her friends. Suddenly, Haewon and Karina came and stood beside me.

"Are you still worried if you're doing great on raising Amy?" Karina asked, leaning forward on the railings as I do.

"Maybe..."

"Well, you're doing great." Haewon now said.

"Yeah? If not with your help maybe I don't know what to do." I said as I chuckled lightly.

Good thing taking care of a child isn't new to them. They took care of Kyujin and Leeseo too when they were younger.

"So, with the royalties... Is it weird to see the faces of those people you've been with?" Haewon asked, changing the topic.

I didn't answer right away and thought of my response as if it was a million-dollar question.

It's weird, of course. A while ago when I was in the safe house with them, I couldn't help but think that they are the same friends I already met before.

I couldn't help but feel happy even though I knew that they aren't the same people close to me. I couldn't help but look at one particular person too.

Which made me realize that this is worse than dreaming to be with them. At least there, I know that they are just dreams. But this one is different, I know she's real but I can't even get close to her because it's not her.

"I don't know...  It's weird but a good weird for me" I shortly said.

Karina sighed which made me look at her.

"If I were you, maybe I don't know what to do," Karina said.

"There's nothing I should do but help them to finish this mission. That's all."

"But what if—"

I looked at Karina again but she paused and shook her head.

"Nevermind."

"What if what?"

"Nothing..."

"She wanna ask what if you know... something grows unexpectedly," Haewon said.

"That's impossible."

"Why so?" Karina asked.

"Because they know their goal here. She knows their mission here. And you forgot, she's a princess and it's natural for them to have a certain goal and do it for their own good."

"Right."

"That's a bummer. I actually thought you'll finally be having someone after long years." Karina said making me roll my eyes.

"That's not my priority now, so it doesn't matter if nothing happens like that. And besides, how old I am? It's not like I'm still a teenager who needs love."

"Everyone needs love, come on. Age is not the basis of it. You wanna grow up having no one beside you?"

"I have Amy... And Yoree, plus you guys" I shrugged.

"Aish, Karina,  let her be. Time tells if she's truthful with what she's saying." Haewon said which made Karina agreed.
