sarah was a self-conscious person. she tended to care about what she was wearing, how she looked, everything. though she was constantly told that she looked perfectly fine, she didn't think so.
there's not a thing that i would change
she always thought of ways to improve the way she looked. when she thought she was too fat, she tried to cut down in her diet. when she thought her face was not co-operating with her that day, she would try and put foundation and powder over the areas that she thought that needed it.

yamaguchi thought she looked perfectly fine. in his eyes, he thought she was the prettiest person living on the surface of the earth.
just the way you are
he constantly told her that she looked alright and didn't need to do anything to change herself.
and when you smile
she never really believed him and tried to do things that she deemed would make her prettier and acceptable.
the whole world stops and stares for a while
but she was already acceptable.

"sarah," yamaguchi said with a small sigh, grabbing her by the shoulders.

"there's not a thing that you should change about yourself," he said, "i love you just the way you are.
