the one thing qian loved more than oikawa himself was books. she could spend an entire day in her room, curled up on her bed with a book in her hands.

oikawa didn't get it. how she loved books that much. if books were living things, he would've been dumped a long time ago.

how could she spend an afternoon with a book? he didn't get it. even when on their dates, she had a book in her bag and would make a point to stop by the bookstore.

"qian," he said one day as he rested his head in her thighs as she read a book.

"yes?" she said, her eyes reading the text on the paper.

"how are you so interested in books?" he asked, "they're just... books."

"that's like me asking you why you like volleyball so much," she said, placing a bookmark between the pages and placing the book in the space between her and the arm of the couch, "it's just volleyball."

"you take that back!" oikawa yelled as he playfully slapped her arms.

"and you take that back too!" qian yelled, tickling his most sensitive spot: his stomach.

he laughed and lifted his arms up in surrender as he choked out between giggles, "okay! you win!"

she gave a satisfied smirk before saying, "it's an interest, tooru."

"am i one of your interests too, then?" he asked, hope glittering in his chocolate brown orbs.

"correction: second interest," she chuckled.

"rude!" he yelled, pouting and folding his arms.

"kidding," she giggled as she pecked his forehead, "i love you."

"you'd better," he laughed before adding, "i love you too."
