Token's POV.

"Dad," I say, knocking on the door.

"Come in, Token," he says.

I walk in, closing the door behind myself.

"What is it?" He asks.

Mom walks in as well.

"I erm," I say.

They both wait for me to speak.

"What if I can't live up to what you are?" I ask, looking down at my feet.

"What was that?" My mom asks.

"What if I'm not good enough to live up to the legacy you've made?" I ask.

They both look at each other.

"What makes you think that, son?" Dad asks.

"I don't know! I don't think I am good enough," I say.

Dad laughs.

"Token, dear-," mom starts.

"What if I can't go into your shoes?" I ask.

Dad takes my shoulders.

"Of course you can't," he says.

He seems to think for a moment.

"My shoes are too small for you. You can do so much more than me. Don't be afraid of not being good enough because you can be absolutely anything you want to be and your mom and I will support you," he says.

I hug him.

"What gives you the idea you aren't good enough?" Mom asks.

"Don't worry about it," I say.

"But I do. What on Earth could give you the idea we wouldn't love you thought it all?" Mom asks.

I sigh.

"People can say stupid things sometimes," I say.

Mom smiles.

"Still not getting used to criticism. Are you?" She asks.

I shake my head and this time it's her that hugs me.

"You'll be something grand, Token, I can feel it. Maybe not for a job but I'm certain that you'll be something grand," she says.

"Thank you," I say.

I take a breath.

"This came from...," i say, showing them the letter.

"'Dear Mr. Black'... oh wow. Life is going to be really confusing in this house if they continue to address you the way they address me," Dad says.
