Chapter 10 - Thanksgiving Part 2

She went to the top of the roof where she could just let go.
She went to the edge and looked out.
The cold air was something she didn't get cause she was inside.
The wind blew her hair out of her face and she breathed in.
She beard footsteps but didn't look back.

"Maya?"

She didn't answer nor did she look back.
She took a breathe and just stood still.
He went to stand next to her.

"Hey what's wrong?" Josh asked.
"Nothing," Maya said.
"Yeah and I've known you one day. What is going on?" Josh asked.
"I don't know how to feel about the adoption," Maya said as a tear dropped on her cheek.
"I know you feel scared but you don't have to. You can get everything over with ease. Besides having Shawn as your father isn't that bad," Josh said.
"No it isn't. I am acting like a idiot," Maya said as Josh pulled her close.
"No you're not. You're just a little confused that's all. And totally normal. Why don't you take a breathe?" Josh said and Maya exhaled.
"There you go. Before you know it everything will be much better. Just believe in it," Josh said.
"Thank you Josh."
"Let's go in," Josh said.

They entered the room and Maya went straight to her parents.

"I'm sorry."
"Don't be. The news were genourmes. I don't blame you from acting like that," Shawn said.
"I would love if you adopt me. You are already like my father. Doing this will only be making it official," Maya said.
"So what do you say?" Katy asked.
"Let's do it," Maya said and gave Shawn a hug.
"We love you," Shawn said.
"And I love you guys."
